Thanks HRT Stroker and all the members on this forum. It's a privellege to be on the sponsors list with other reputable workshops.
I'll be posting up some history of APS tomorrow. Can't stick around tonight, it's my little boys 5th birthday, so no doubt i'll be up all night "showing him" how to play V8 supercars on PS2, but I'll be back bright and early in the morning.
Im excited to be able to post up what we have to offer, Also looking forward to reading members opinions.
Cheers Mick

Boss just dropped the Crewie off. Rang me and I asked if he was gettin a MAF or MAFless tune. He didn't know so I explained a MAFless tune to him and he jumped straight on the phone to 'em and said he'd call me back. The great blokes down there said they would give it a brazilian and see what it came up as. If it was worth it they would give it one but if it wasn't they would give it a normal tune. Now THATS bloody good service. Fantastic work guys, we can't wait till tomorrow night!!!! (i'll be down very soon for my tune. now the apprentices wont look at my ute anymore!)

Because of the lack of power or the poor fuel economy :D

Well i've been a little slow on the update on the boss's Crewman.

Last Thurs he got some second hand headers (4-2-1) and a 2" to 3" single system install with just the rear resi's.

He drove the ute down on thursday night to APS and fell inlove with the extra power and the sound. Told him that if he thought that was good wait till he got the tune done.

Friday the blokes at APS added a VZ MAF and VZ MAF pipe, new VZ HSV engine covers and spent the day with the ute on the rollers.

In the end they came up with a nice 222rwkw!!! They didn't tune it mafless as the ute was actually being beefed up to tow the mighty trailer at work (2000kg)

Well after a week the boss can't believe it. He span the wheels up today infront of the job site (never seen him do that before) and keeps making excuses to get things

The trailer tows alot better once its on the move but he has now decided on a 4.11 diff to "help the take off" (my arse its all for towing trailer now, he's hooked).

Also the exhaust is quite droney and he has decided to get it looked at. APS said when he was there that there was a restriction in the zorst and that if he changes it they might be able to get some more out of it (of course as soon an he heard this the drone has suddenly become way too loud  )

These guys are great. Been helpful all the way and not pushy in any sense. Well priced too. I'll be heading down myself in about a month to see what they can get out of the VU SS (might have the bosses 3.46's to go in the A4 too :D )

Great job guys, keep it up.

This thread is not going down that track we have given this car allot more power than it originally had, its not a drag car but it does drag a 2 ton trailer every day.
The customer is extremely happy and we have not finished yet.

I thought it was quite a valid question. What has a MAF got to do with towing?

The real answer is nothing.

It comes down to cost and tuning time , if you are not after every last HP then why spend the extra $$$ , in the long run it is only a few bucks more to upgrade later once the bug bites :D

The newest craze is MAPLESS , been running that way for a few months now - crazy  ;)

We all have read plenty of threads maff versus maffless. This car has been tuned to its maximum horsepower with the bolt on's that it has. Running it maffless didn't give it much more power at the moment and we have discussed with the customer why we have gone this way. Each tuner likes to think they can do things better. We all use similar programs but some people just do one thing and think its the only way.
If in the near future we go to MAFFLESS on this car or any customer that we have dealt with, there is no charge to go maffless. It took all day to do what we have already achieved, and it may take all day to go maffless with no further costs to the customer.
Remembering one more thing the customer is rapt with the improvements and will continue to be rapt with any further work we do. That's APS Service Centres guarantee.

Cheers Mick

PS Im not having a dig at anyone. This is what we thought was the best way for this car with the minor modifications that it has. That may change in the near future. If anyone wants to discuss Maf vs Mafless, we can start a new thread on it.
