View Full Version : "Undriven" Demonstrators.
Good day!
Approached a Holden dealer today to look at a demonstrator VZ SV6. The sales representative seemed really keen to do business, and instead of trying to sell me a "demo" SV6 with 7000kms on it, he directed me to an SV6 without plates... A car he referred to as an "undriven demo". It looked new, and had 31km's on the clock. Apparently they have registered the car already so there are number plates allocated to the car. The "undriven demo" is around the same price as the one with 7000kms. Is there a catch to "undriven demo's"?
Thanks!

Probably just the one that sits in the showroom for people to climb in and out of. So long as they clean the grubby finger marks off it, I'd say GO FOR IT :)

the dealer gets a big hit back from Holden on the Demos....from memory I think they need to be registered 3 months before they can attack Holden on the pricing....so they have probably regoed the thing and it has sat on the floor. Check the date of rego.

That's exactly the situation I had with my car. The dealer had a number that they wanted to move before the VZ came out, This was in August, but I wasn't ready to take delivery until October. They registered in August, kept the car in storage until October, I drove away saving $1500. The Holden rebaate period is 2 months off memory.
The only downside is I only get 10 months of rego for the first year.
