Hi, had a day out today in Sunbury(Victoria) where they had a discount day for dyno tuning. Thought I might take the stock VX SS and by the way the only mod is a sports exhaust. Must say I met a great bunch of blokes.
Mine retured 183.6 kw at the wheels, please any thoughts on this result, Good? Bad?. I thought I would get a reading before I contemplate a edit.
Regards Peter. :p

Thats about right, they range from about 175>190rwks in your model so you are in the middle, your exhaust is probably not worth any extra kw's either way...get an edit though(mafless)and an over the radiator intake and you will be away :burnout:

Yeah I will, I'm pretty happy with that. :D

Aftermarket exhaust not worth kw on a VX? Please
explain  Dont they have the same extremely
restrictive exhaust as the VT LS1. I didn't get a stock
dyno reading on mine, but it did a repeatable 200rwkw
on Sams dyno with just a redback catback and the
addition of a mcai mated to my old SS Inductions CAI
prior to edit. Pretty sure it wouldn't have come from the
factory with that power.
ITROCS...Not trying to compare my power figure to yours,
they were done on different dynos probably under different
conditions :) It is nice to here some realistic dyno figures
for a change, rather than the usual I HAVE 225RWKW
UNTUNED IS THIS GOOD

Hows it going Peter, (Brian from Parkway :D )
good to see u found the forum, I forgot to warn u that this forum is addictive!

That rkw is about what you should expect. The aftermarket exhaust is very definetely worth kw on a series 1 VX, stock exhaust is squashed in parts and goes into a single 2 1/4 pipe. Yours is twin 2 1/2 all the way so much better flow. Only thing is that until you get an edit you dont get the best your bolt ons can give.
So start bugging her with your christmas wish list  and then go and visit Phonsy. ;)
The OTRI imho would be a bit of an overkill for what you want with ur car, a monaro CAI is very cheap (like $15) to do, drop over next time your at Mark's and I'll show u :D
By the way, get yourself down to the Q Lounge on the 5th of August (see post in forum bar) and meet some of the other Melton LS1er's :D

:D Hi Brian,
Yes I was pretty happy with the result from my stock Gen 3. Next time I'm over I will pop in for a chat, I could talk all day about cars, especially the mighty Holdens.
This is a great site and yes I am probally addicted.
Catch you later.
Peter. :)

183 sounds right for a stocker. I got 182 rwkw on my stock vx Clubby. Got Rob Bliss to fit a full 3" exhaust system with Pacemaker extractors, fitted SS Throttle body and got 218rwkw at the next dyno. Since then I have been edited and have fitted an Over the radiator Induction system and now have 235rwkw :D . So you can get some nice gains with not to much expence :burnout:
