Well Sam has been spending a fair few hours learning the new software. And being the bloody perfectionist that he is, has worked his magic on a clients ute with some worthwhile results.
Those who know Ali will understand just what he expects and what he Justry's to acheive :)

Some points to note for our dyno printout analysis junkies -
- rear wheel horsepower was increased by 44 :D
- the peak and fall out at 178kmp/hr is the engine hitting the limiter. The LS2 limiter has a lot friendlier version than our beloved LS1
- the base run was done beginning at 75km/hr, the power runs has to be changed for them to start at 80km/hr
- the difference on the road is deffinatley noticeable
Next steps = cam & exhaust
We will keep you posted on the results

Great work there guys. Good to see some great numbers coming out of the LS2's.
BTW it was Mafless. There are no real tricks or wizardry in doing a mafless on these. Put in a bit of time and it all comes together quite easily were Sams words.
Seems like most of the LS2 results are similar from different shops. It will always vary from car to car but should remain similar as per the LS1's.
Als comment on his ute were that it really awakened the beast within

the new exhust system looks fantastic, sounds awesome.
It's not like that you are not use to having small amounts of HP under your bloody right boot either Al :)

LS -2 Engine - enhanced by Sam
The smile on Al's face - priceless

Sam has no problems bringing up old post
6ltr wise Sam is seeing anywhere between 230rwkw and 250 rwkw. Exhaust may help a little but nowhere near the 30rwkw others are seeing with exhaust change and cold air intake. Some shops are getting more out of an air box and exhaust without a tune than Sam and many oither shops are seeing with a tunes exhaust etc.
From comments on here most seem at around 230rwkw to 250/256 rwkw. I have only heard of 2 making huge amounts more one was 296rwkw and one was 300rwkw,
So to sum up an Als cam only ls2 made arund 10hp less than these 2 super stockers with OTR and exhaust. Al may not have won on the dyno race but I am sure I know which one would feel better on the street. We havent seen anymore of these near 300 tunes popping up. Maybe they were just freak cars.
Owning both 5.7ltre cars and a 6ltr It really amazed me the hype about it. Its a little better but nothing huge

well when the vz monaro was first released i test drove a fusion one at sutton's, half hour later i test drove a vz clubby 6.0, i gotta say the monaro impressed me more

I assume you are talking about in a modified state. IMO a standard LS2 VZ clubby is way different to drive than a standard LS1 VYII clubby.

Both without tunes. The VZ feels better suspension and brake wise but performance between the VYII R8 and VZ R8 didnt feel that special to me

Are you being a naughty boy again Justice ??? :eyes:
Is is a good sign that Holden got the headers right for a change, bad sign for the aftermarket guys though.
The cam made a difference, as did Sam's tunng, especially in the mid range.
A stroker will still smack the 6L though .... weeeeeeee

Have to agree to disagree. I had a M6 VXII R8 and my mate had and still has a M6 VYII clubsport. We both thought my M6 VZ clubsport (before its tune) was considerably more punchy especially in the lower rev range.

The headers are the same cast iron manifolds they have been fitting to LS1s since their release.

Then how do you explain that a LS-1 can receive kw increases with quality headers, and the LS-2 doesn't ?

I can't, but I'm told the manifolds fitted to the LS2 share the same part numbers with those fitted to the LS1.

LS2 does come out cast iron manifolds - the car ended up making with camshaft. full exhaust and tuned 423hp and a shit load of torque
