I thought my fellow muscle car nuts Down Under would enjoy this.

What is the Woodward Dream Cruise? It's the world's largest car show/cruise, a days-long American automobile love-in. Chrysler, Ford and GM also set up huge displays showing classics from the past, concepts and future products. More information on the Woodward Dream Cruise,

All pictures are 1600 x 1200 and linked.

Cruisers emerge on Woodward after the rain. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4415_IMG.JPG)

A classic and modern Mustang on Woodward. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4416_IMG.JPG)

A lone Japanese (Supra) among the Americans - very out of place. That plate would look better on my turbo Buick too. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4417_IMG.JPG)

Ford had a couple of GTs on display, an instant classic and still draws a big crowd. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4419_IMG.JPG)

Another Ford and Shelby concept, it isn't nearly as striking in person as the Ford GT though. Judging by the lack of people fawning over it, I'm not alone on this. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4421_IMG.JPG)

The next SVT Mustang packing the Ford GT supercar's powertrain, it will be a force to be reckoned with. I don't think they could spell out Shelby's name any bigger on the rear either. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4422_IMG.JPG)

Ford's display was loaded with pristine classics from the past, including this shiny Eleanor. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4423_IMG.JPG)

Ford's sign in Birmingham. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4425_IMG.JPG)

Like every city Woodward runs through, Birmingham is a hot, sweaty mass of American car lovers. The most pristine show cars are generally parked here. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4426_IMG.JPG)

Jay Leno's twin-turbo LS1 Oldsmobile Toronado was on hand for crowd's to ogle. Pictures don't do it justice, sadly I could not get any better shots due to the crowd. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4429_IMG.JPG)

The 469hp 2006 Cadillac STS-V - easily the most impressive GM product I've ever seen next to the new ZO6 and XLR-V. I can't wait for it to be road tested. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4430_IMG.JPG)

The new LS2 Trailblazer SS, Chevrolet's hottest SS next to the SSR roadster. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4431_IMG.JPG)

TB SS from the rear. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4432_IMG.JPG)

They're back. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4433_IMG.JPG)

The thoroughly reworked 2006 Impala SS. It's not very inspiring, still carries a four speed transmission, and it has a weak V8 driving the front wheels. Chrysler needn't be worried. GM cannot rebadged the Commodore SS for Chevrolet fast enough. The Monte Carlo recieved the same nose as well. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4436_IMG.JPG)

Chevrolet. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4437_IMG.JPG)

My friend spotted this burnt orange beauty (2006 ZO6) sitting off by itself, hidden away. But not for long. It just may be the most aggressive looking Corvette ever concieved. It looks hungry for Italian, mmmm Italian. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4438_IMG.JPG)

God-like side profile. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4440_IMG.JPG)

The view most European sports cars will be treated to. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4443_IMG.JPG)

ZO6 cluster, flourescent-look lighting, the needles look like they float. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4445_IMG.JPG)

Z06 interior. Nicely assembled and finished, everything is tight and uniform as it should be. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4446_IMG.JPG)

The most beautiful Chevrolet sedans ever made, and lining Woodward Avenue. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4449_IMG.JPG)

You can walk faster than the classics move on Woodward. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4450_IMG.JPG)

Another angle of Woodward. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4451_IMG.JPG)

The Cadillac XLR-V, major road presence and performance to back it up. Shame the top wasn't down because of all the rain. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4452_IMG.JPG)

The new 4.4L supercharged Northstar, it's a tiny engine packing a huge punch. Very tidy installation too. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4453_IMG.JPG)

Nice reflection. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4454_IMG.JPG)

The Pontiac Solstice, there were a ton of these running around and they appear to be a big crowd pleaser. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4456_IMG.JPG)

Torrential rain soaked Woodward off and on but never dampened the Cruise. We managed to avoid getting soaked. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4459_IMG.JPG)

Duggan's Irish Pub, basically Dream Cruise headquarters and always completely rented out by Oldies 104.3 - otherwise I'd love to try a Big Chief Burger. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4460_IMG.JPG)

Mustang fans dry their rides after the storm. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4462_IMG.JPG)

Gas stations along Woodward were loaded with classic and modern muscle making pit stops. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4463_IMG.JPG)

Plymouth Prowlers were out in force as always, many of them are nicely customized like this orange car. They were designed to cruise. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4464_IMG.JPG)

Kids still appreciate the classics. The Cruise is an event all ages enjoy. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4465_IMG.JPG)

Another gas station shot. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4466_IMG.JPG)

Chrysler's 2006 318kW Charger SRT8 wearing Inferno Red, pictures do not do the car or color justice. It is one of the most vicious looking new cars I've seen. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4467_IMG.JPG)

Hotter and better than the 297kW Cadillac CTS-V and nearly everything else for the money - believe that. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4468_IMG.JPG)

Chrysler had a large number of spotless classics on display with their modern products, including this Shaker. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4474_IMG.JPG)

Cool Charger advert - below it a crew assembled and disassembled a Charger like a huge model. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4476_IMG.JPG)

The incredible AWD Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 - it more than makes up for the weird circular headlamps they cursed it with. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4478_IMG.JPG)

Bold and distinctive center exhaust pipes along with Euro-spec rear fogs. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4480_IMG.JPG)

An AMC classic, I almost ended up with an AMC muscle car instead of my Buick GN. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4483_IMG.JPG)

For Sale - Beep Beep! (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4484_IMG.JPG)

Another Hemi 'Cuda - The best looking Chrysler muscle car ever made. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4485_IMG.JPG)

A later Road Runner. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4486_IMG.JPG)

The Magnum SRT8, muscle with five doors has never looked better. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4489_IMG.JPG)

Magnum SRT8 rear, it doesn't have the molded air diffusers of the Charger SRT8. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4490_IMG.JPG)

The new 318kW Chrysler 6.1L Hemi. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4491_IMG.JPG)

Rare Plymouth GTX convertible, packing 440 power. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4495_IMG.JPG)

What do you get when you give the Dodge Ram the Jeep Rubicon treatment? The baddest and most capable fullsize 4x4 on the market - the Power Wagon. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4496_IMG.JPG)

Stylish 50s Mopars, that's the Jeep rock climbing wall in the background. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4498_IMG.JPG)

The black DUB Charger. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4499_IMG.JPG)

The crowd prevented better angles of the DUBS y0. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/144-4500_IMG.JPG)

DUB even tinted the wind screen, that's gangsta. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4501_IMG.JPG)

A classic Charger Super Bee. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4502_IMG.JPG)

Maybe this Bee got all the honeys back in the day. Yeah, that was pretty lame. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4503_IMG.JPG)

One more shot of the Charger SRT8, it's that fine. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4505_IMG.JPG)

All the people that bought Mercury Marauders were present, an amazing feat (it's a joke guys). (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4506_IMG.JPG)

Dugan's across the street, a mass of classic Americana and Americans (Canadians too). (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4508_IMG.JPG)

GM wanted everyone to know they're back. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4510_IMG.JPG)

Occasionally either lane of Woodward clears, but not for long. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4511_IMG.JPG)

ace3 is not alone in his love for yellow toys. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4513_IMG.JPG)

Saleen had a large exhibit, in fact it was better than Ford's. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4515_IMG.JPG)

The almighty S7 twin-turbo, the baddest supercar to ever come from the United States. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4516_IMG.JPG)

The real symbol of power- no prancing horses here. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4517_IMG.JPG)

A lovely and exotic booty. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4521_IMG.JPG)

Saleen even had more Ford GTs on display than Ford, though I forget what part of the car they're responsible for. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4519_IMG.JPG)

My friend couldn't help himself, it's that sexy. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4522_IMG.JPG)

Lovely outside, and inside. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4523_IMG.JPG)

Even Jeremy Clarkson wet himself before returning it to Ford. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4524_IMG.JPG)

I thought I hated them, but Saleen Mustangs are quite hot in person. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4525_IMG.JPG)

Ford's flavor the Mazda 6 is actually quite a striking design, I predict a hit. SVT will make it even better (hopefully). (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4527_IMG.JPG)

My friend's LS1 Yankee Monaro poses with my LC2 Grand National. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4532_IMG.JPG)

Then we cruised into the night (as much as the police would allow anyways). (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4535_IMG.JPG)

As soon as it started, it's over. The weekend never lasts long enough. (http://www.ot2.cupofnoodles.com/trishield/145-4537_IMG.JPG)

If you guys want more info on the C6 Corvette, a couple of good sites are:
http://www.digitalcorvettes.com
&
http://www.corvetteconti.com
The second site is actually run by a Corvette dealer. I spotted pics of a 'paddle shift' Corvette on his site.........

(If these have been posted before, my apologies)
