With your consolidated email, you won't get a reply back as we have to wait for seconding for each of them. The seconds have been coming through in dribs and drabs and are being processed as they appear .... though I wish someone else would just second all of the ones you nominated as it's a real pain with one person seconding 2 of them, then another person seconding of of those again + one more.

Easiest way if you're going to do a group nomination is to consult with one of the other validated members at the meet and confirm that they are happy to second the list that you have in mind. Then just CC them in on the email to the Mods, and they can then forward the email to us stating that they are happy to second that list.

I'd like to see a change to the validation process for premium sponsors please. We get to know decent customers and then try to have them validated but makes it hard if we ourselves don't know a "seconder" OR more importantly people that can be a "seconder" don't know the person. I think it would be fair to say that Premium Sponsors would only ever nominate decent, helpful people. I know I'm in this predicament at present. I have a very good close mate and has been for years. He is one of my suppliers and a good mate but makes life hard for me to get a "seconder" when none of my other clients who are validated know him, only myself.

I do realise however that they should wait and attended a validation function, however lets face it they are few and far between these days and with the way things are most of us do work weekends these days to make ends meet. I highly dout any premium sponsor would nominate a person that wasn't 200% worthy for validation knowing they have backed them with their business etc.

Hope this is something that might be considered by site management

Thanks
Rick

Unfortunately you are wrong .... in the past some sponsors asked for a person to be validated simply because they spent some money with their business, just as other members have asked for validation for people simply because they bought an old MAF pipe off them (and through the post of all things - they never once actually met them)

The current process is the most secure for all concerned. If someone REALLY wants to be validated, they'll make the effort to attend an event/meet. If the events are too far and few, you could always organise one yourself? :p Doesn't have to be a mega-cruise .... plenty of the meets up in Brisbane have just been a meet up of less than 10 people at McCafe for a chat.

Just another few question on the validation process when a email is sent to moderators (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/sendmessage.php) do each of you mods get a copy or just the one that deals with valadation??? Next is i have noticed that some people have in the profile who validated them and others dont why is that? I know that all the old ones dont have this but also some new valadtions dont either.

Cheers

All mods get a copy (provided there is no issue with their local ISP/mail server).
All recent validations should have those who nominated and seconded them in the profile. Those that don't would be an oversight (see: lazy bugger) by the mod who performed the change. :)

Really?! Gee rather silly thing to do I would have thought considering your professionailism is riding in the line. Oh well that explains as to why that option isn't there anymore  That's great isn't it! You tell customers to come to this site and become part of it with all the good help and friendships you make etc, but they can't use the site poperly as they are not validated.

Ok Kris, I was always under the impression it had to be or rather a moderator on hand at an event to make the validations possible? This is not the case?

The only reason I ask this question is I have been in this position now with one very good friend, and have previously been in the same position with one client. My friend at present owns his own business and works very long hours as his business is only clsed 2 times a year. He doesn't know a single sole off here except for me. According to the rules that makes it virtually impossible for him to be validated as no one "knows" him to second my validation.

My other recent one was PAY005, Tony. Only by sheer luck did another validated member Mongy (Lloyd) know Tony and this enabled us to have him validated. Tony is a terrific guy, mad V8 car enthusiast but due to his working hours unable to participate in events etc. As I said it was by pure luck I was talking to Lloyd over Tony that Lloyd actually knew Tony and agreed he was a worthy person for validation.

There is a dyno event next Saurday here on the Gold Coast which is posted in the general discussion area. Is it possible for me to use this for validation purposes for some people?

I'm not whinging, merly trying to bring to the attention the other side of the story.

You can indeed ... if there is another validated member who is willing to second any nominations you make, no need for Mods to be there.
Note that both nominator and seconder are held responsible for the behaviour on the forum of whoever they nominate - i.e. if someone you validate breaches the rules and passes on info found in the validated area, there is some backlash against you also.
If you end up doing bulk nominations from the dyno day, please try to follow the procedure in my post above with regards to getting them seconded.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Attending a ls1.com.au function doesnt AUTOMATICALLY get you validated!!!

People who met you at the dinner must email moderators (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/sendmessage.php) and request/vouch for your validation..........at least two are required.

Try to get the users to email on the same day or as close as possible to it....LOTS of email comes our way and if the requests are a week apart its likely to fall thru the cracks.

They all stress out too much.
From what I've heard, its no big deal anyway.

It just gives you access to more sections of the forums. Those sections are only as good as the info posted in them, so their value changes regularly.

that one statement shows what the problem is. People think 1 meet and greet (even if they meet 2 validated members) is enough to get validated. and without pointing the finger at anyone, advertising cruises and meets as "validation opportunity" also adds to the problem.

I think once a vouching member gets a ban/loses validation/whatever after one of their proteges turns out to be a total tool will have an effect on "validation opprotunities"
