I realise that both publications are probably both different to the real world valuations but I looked up the value of my VX SS on both publications and there is like a $4k to $5k difference in their estimate ranges, Redbooks values were about $5k lower than the Glass's Guide, which one do you think is closer to what a dealer would offer as a trade, I realise condition, km etc make a big difference but nice to have a rough idea what your vehicle is worth.

I would think Redbook would be closer, from my limited observations.

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing... but even more so the accuracy ?. The cheapest VY 1 Clubsport I can find anywhere is $37,000. And I've been negotiating. Luckily this one has sat nav and Telematics to boot.... i think it's a good deal ??

Redbook says :
Average price - private sale* $32,700 - $37,500

Glasses guide says :
Average price - private sale $31680 - $38720

I think the lower end of the private sale spectrum can always be discarded. Lucky guys who pick up for those kind of prices. A thousand or two off the top private sale figure seems pretty acheivable though.

Don't know about Glasses but I have alway's thought redbook is a load of crap. Here is one good example.

Red Book Code FORD71AU
1971 FORD FALCON

XY Sedan GTHO Phase III 4dr Man 4sp 351 (Nov onwards 1970)
Trade in price guide* $63,800 - $69,600
National average price - private sale* $68,900 - $87,900
Price when new (RRP) $5,302

At least they updated it a bit because at the end of last year it was $35000 to $37000.
