Well, as the title says it all. yesterday coming home from brisbane after my PT visit. came home via broadbeach way (those that know gold coast area) the first set of lights after the big intersection going west on Hooker blvd a surfside bus on left lane, me,then a vs v8. stopped at red lights back up a bit this drunk was on a mazda mx 6 (oldish car) overtook a motorbike on the grass comming down bemuda st (near q super centre)   then ran the lights   and come down towards us doing 150 (so mr plod thinks) then our lights go gree we put off then (i never saw this part, but felt the bit after) he overtook the bus on the inside of the bus, mounted the kurb onto grass musta lost control and SLAMMED into the back left 1/4 of my car one of his deck chairs flew out and put a nice hole in the back of my lower trim on the clubby. those that know, ksv kits are made of plastic. and if it hard enough with break, it's broken in half   :bash: :bash: :(
he then proceded to mount the kerbing in the centre island. went across the other side of the road hit a few more cars (total count was about 7 cars) police officer on way to work chased him from bemuda st all the way to where he finally stopped. anyway back to the story. He kept going and turned down bemuda going south (i think) the way down bundal way... cop still after him so is a xr6T. he then lost his back wheel so driving on 3 wheels. then does another u turn and some stupid speed. his springs in his car colapse both cars still chasing after him. driving with no supsension he then relises he's go no chance so finally some sense in him  :bash: pulls over, after a bit of a struggle he's arrested. charged with Dangerous operation of a motor car, DUI witha reading over 0.9xx failing to stop at traffic lights 3 times or more, Failing to stop at a scen of a accident (or in his case accidents) and beign a absolute D**KHEAD on the road. relased on bail ............. this is for you my drunk friend.... :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: and with my help yoru off to jail :D
I'm going to assesment centre car is generally okay, rear 1/4 on pass side is pretty screwed. ill take some photos of the damage. when he hit me he pushed me as well which i have nice flat spots on the wheels and the rear left is chewed out as well. so tommorow i should have some pictures of the car for all to see what a drunk driver can do. for the speed he hit me at (there may be unseen damages) but from what the shell looks like it surfived it pretty well just hope it's not a write off.......
Pics to be added in next day or so... please bear with me in this sad time.... :cussing:

Correct me if im wrong but his insurance company will wash their hands of him because he was DUI correct? im 99.9% sure that your insurance is null and void if you are under the influence of booze?
Mate i feel for you, at least when i got hit it wasn't from a drunk driver and he admitted fault right away. I know what its like to see your pride and hoy smashed, it breaks your heart.
I personally think you should sue the living shit out of this guy, and i sure as hell hope the majistrate takes his license away for a long long long time and that he learns what it feels like to see bars everytime he looks through a window.
Good luck mate, keep us posted on your progress.

100% correct.
Hammer, the upside is your insurance excess should be waived because he is "at fault" and has been charged accordingly when you make your not at fault claim.

Bloody hell Hammer, how many ladders did you walk under? Or was it a busload of china-men you killed?
Might be worth considering some Feng-Shui for the clubbie to try & get some good luck happening ! :D
No good mate, hope the ins. co. don't give you too much grief over it.
Cheers. :)

I know the feeling well!
Some may have even be there to hear and see the sickening sight of the female flooring the excellerator in her crappy old VK station wagon last year ploughing into the front of IH8WRX at the enterance to Harry's Diner in Brisbane
For those that don't know, I was got sick of mates badgering me to go to Hsarry's as I'd never been before. I'm waiting in line outside. This crappy old VK wagon in front of me runs up the ass of the car in front of her twice. All I see is the reverse lights engage, hear her engine rev loudly and I got this horrible feeling inside, then BANG! Yep she floored reverse and slammed straight into me
The crowd went mad at her and all hell broke loose. I gave her a serve and a half, confiscated her licence, rang the Police and made her exit the carpark and park on the other side of the road. Police turn up and were terrific!
On the side of the road she blew .29  , no that's not a typo, that's 0.29! Now it gets even worse. Inside the VK was her 3mth old baby  She was unlicenced and her car unregistered. She even had the hide to ask the Police "was her baby going to be safe in the Police car" (Falcon). Well this one Officer he just went ballistic at her!
My damage was $600. New front bar and re-enforcement bar. The lady played up at the Police station for 2hrs and when they finally bagged her there she blew .21!
I've never been back to Harry's since. I had to pay the $600 myself as she had no insurance

Shit Hammer, the guy looks to have done a good job of it thats for sure. hopefully the repairers to do a good job fixing it. Lucky it was only cars that were damaged though. Drink drivers are all F**KWITS, cause its usually someone else thats hurt, or killed, and not them. Hope its back on the road good as new in no time mate.
