Alright I am sick of this stock shit ass torque 5.7Litre and I want torque/power now.

This was my first plan.
First Car
A4 White VX SS- GenT Turbo/Intercooler Kit, Modified 4l80e Transmission with a 3000rpm Lockup Converter, More Modifications like cam, heads, diff, suspension etc, HSV Bodykit with 19” Shadow Chrome GTS Rims and full interior work - Reshaped and retrimmed SS front seats to Coulston specs with mustard/Alfa Romeo Tan leather same for the rear seats and keep the car for weekend’s and all.

Second Car
A4 Black VY SS- GenX2 Supercharger, Beefed up Auto with converter, R8 Clubsport Bodykit with 20” or 19” Chrome Rims and keep this car for a daily driven car.

But what I was thinking and is a better idea is change it the other way around as the black VY R8 Clubsport with 19” Chrome rims and the mustard/Alfa Romeo tan leather would look tens time better then the White HSV VX with 19” Shadow Chrome Rims and plus the VY is newer and I reckon the VY R8 looks more aggressive at the front compared to the VX HSV what do you guys think?.

I will have $10,000 on the 24/10/05 to do the GenX2 Supercharger kit with a Exhaust, V6 Supercharger Injectors, Valve Springs, Roller Rockers, to the VX then I can get the VY SS on the 28/01/06 and start saving for the GenT Turbo/Intercooler and all of the modifications that I wish to do. All I would have $16,000 on the 25/11/05 to get the GenT Kit and Exhaust, etc and then save for another month for the 4L80E Transmission and risk that I wont blow the standard auto as I would have no car to drive and no money to make and then save for the VY.

I am serious about this and IT is all going to happen but I just want to know what do you guy’s think? I truly think doing the GenX2 to the VX is the best option as I like the Black VY with the R8 Bodykit way better then the White VX HSV Bodykit and would rather keep the VY for weekend’s, plus I would have the GenX2 Supercharged VX while saving for the VY and while it is getting the GenT Turbo and all of the work done to it and I need a car to make money LOL. And on the other hand I will have torque/power in one month.

Fark dude, that's a lot of money to spend on mods only to then change cars three months down the track.

What's going on, preparing for Bathurst?

Or just got money coming out of your pockets? ;)

 I will be keeping both cars for years well the VY anyway, the VX I will be keeping for a while but when it comes time to sell it I can just take the supercharger off the car with ease as it is not intercooled and put it on the next car ;) .

I reckon you're travelling well if you are just out of a VN V8...
Do one car and one car only - buy a house with the rest... ;)

No offence to VX or VY SS owners intended. Why start with just a VY SS or an even older VX with all that brass? Why not just buy the VY II R8 and then Gen T it?

Better still mine's for sale if the price is right. Seriously. Its got the Shadow Chrome 19s, turbo intercooled Gen T, upgraded valve springs, gauges, HSV leather seats, HSV body kit, exhaust, 320rwkw (soon to be more), better brakes than the SS..... The colour isn't what you want but it can be resprayed.

If your serious about wanting more torque and wanting it now. It's ready and waiting in my garage (as soon as I finish counting and verifying the $100 bills)

JJ.

Seriously good idea, don't go blowing all your cash on cars at 19 ... why do you need two cars, have one, do it right and put anything else you have into a house or some investments. You won't believe the difference it makes starting at 19 instead of 30+ like so many people do.

Listen to Nicks , i wish i had of started eaelier instead of blowing all my cash on peformance mods which seem to always snowball. My apprentice has worked it out. At 21 he has a trade & now when we close in a couple of weeks he has cash & the world at his feet with plenty of options. Once setup with a few income streams yuo can then get a new r8 & turbo charge. :D

 Wait and see then guy's, wait and see. I don't dream like so many other people. 3 months ago I was in here asking to do mods to my VN I got advice it's just a VN at the end of the day, there is no point wasting money on a old VN go and get yourself a LS1 as they are better that I can agree, now look I got my LS1 Don't I.

I would slow it down a little Dane and do the mods you want to one car pick the model that you like best if its a vx then so be it work out what you really want the car for and what you want it to do then WISELY spent your hopefully hard earned money using the advice of members and forum sponsers doing the mods once and correctly then channel the rest of your money into a appriciating asset like a house or managed fund so you can have nice cars for the rest of your life.

Dane, I see you're in Sydney, don't know if you have been in a Blower or a S/C and you haven't mentioned stroking??

As you are possibly going to spend money anyway, you're welcome to drop in and check out the S/C and "feel the force Luke" .

I'll give you some pointers, even with both cars you still won't be up to what I've already spent.

Happy with what I've got? Shit yes.

Would I do it different next time? Shit yes.

PM if you wish.

And remember, always have your licence in mind, or you won't be able to enjoy your toy. :)

Give the guy a break!!!
He's asking questions before he rushes out and just does things and makes mistakes like most of us have done. He's doing it in a forum that is here to help people.
Dude the only advise i have for you is do up 1 car and i'd be going the gen T route.
Then invest your money in a property.
When you get sick of that car upgrade it and pull the kit off it.
Go for a drive in 450 kW Adventra and have a chat to him.
If your making serious money regardles of how it's comming in use it wisely, and have a balance of work, play and keep your future in mind.
You can waste a lot of money and cars and in the process kick yourself at how much you have blown to get to your final end happy result.

Good luck and PM my any questions whenver you like.
I'm happy to steer others in the right direction and wish I had good advise avalable to me when i Started modding cars!!!
Believe me spending money on cars is easy, the reality of it is to do it right the first time and dont throw cash around willy nilly regardless of how much you earn
Good luck

It's great that you want to modify your car / cars, but really, at 19 do you really need a supercharged and turbo-charged vehicle? Is there really any reason for a young bloke to own two highly modified V8 cars? I cannot forsee any reason a young person would need two similar vehicles besides the "brag" factor to your mates.Would insurance even insure a 19 year old for two highly modified / forced induction V8's? I think not. It's great that you've got money to throw around but I know if I was in your position, I'd maybe purchase the one vehicle, modify as I go and put the big dollars away into property / trust funds etc. I'm fairly young myself, have a very good, high paying job, but even than I couldnt afford (nor want to spend that much on cars) to do what you want so I'd hate to see how much more $$ your earning.
If you have that much money to play with it'd be foolish to not set yourself up for the future. It's not a case of jealousy, just a case of you seem like you have more dollars than sense in my honest opinion. Either that or your full of it. But if it were up to me and I was willing to blow that much cash on a car, I'd want it to be the newer sort....

I understand everything you all are saying to me.
And I couldn't agree any more, insurance would be a pain and expensive though the car is in my mothers name. I have decided I will stick with my first plan - GenT Turbocharging the VX SS and do everything else to it and some time next year when I have finally completed the VX SS I may consider getting the VY SS.
Cheer's for all of the opinions.

Good move, high incomes don't always last so stick some away while you can. If in 5 years time you have a nice little portfolio going you can splash a bit of cash around then. Insurance is an interesting one, even though it's in your Mum's name you will need to advise the insurance company that the primary driver is a 19 yo. Or at the very least advise that the youngest driver will be 19. Have you checked this yet, I would be kind of surprised if you can find someone willing to insure a 19 year old in a SS with a GenT ??? I could be wrong though, theres a first time for everything  Whatever the outcome, have fun and drive safe, there are enough aweful statistics out there, don't want you to become one of them !! I know how I drove at 19 and I am bloody glad I didn't have a powerful car

Some good advice here and Im glad you are asking all the right questions.
When you do your car enjoy it at the track where it is legal to drag race and circuit maybe also. You will have some seriously safe fun and then you can brag all you want.
Its good to see you have a budget on the car and as others said definately look at investing in the early future as many of us here have spent hundreds of thousands in various projects from early ages and nothing to show for it.
I am working very hard at the moment and I wish I had listened to all giving me financial advice when I was younger.Good luck and keep us posted.

Another thing to keep an eye on and be careful about dane will be your insurance, yes you might be able to insure it under your mothers name with a turbo on it, but come claim time (hopefully never required) you have to remember that insurance guys weren't born in the last sun shower, they will see a highly modded V8 thats been insured and a teenage son... most of those guys can add 2 + 2....

Yeah your right, who is your insurer mate..... Most people find it hard to insure their car when they are under 25 but those mods really does rule it out full stop. You can have car insured under your parents name but normally on the policy it will say no one under age of 25 some even 30 are allowed to drive the car.... But with sorta money your talking 3 to 4 grand a year on insurance wouldn't hurt the pocket :) hehehe

 . Hey If I have to pay the much insurance I will for one car anyway  That is why I am glad I ask for all of your opinions as I could of made a silly move and that is right NickS I most likely wont have this high income for the rest of my life and yep I have already planned to goto Eastern Creek when I completed the car.
