Was going to get a set of car ramps for home & thought I'd ask if anyone has had scraping problems getting their car up on these ? I've got a VX SS & although the car hasn't been lowered the front spoiler sits fairly low .

Yep. I use two 4' lengths of 8" x 1.5" hardwood leftover from house renovations. Seems strange that nobody is manufacturing ramps better suited to modern cars.

The guys over at the Corvette forums love Race Ramps. It's the only ramp that lifts Corvettes without scraping. I think they are getting ready to do a group-purchase, try to hook-up with them to save money. The guy uses Brute as his name, here is the thread:

Email him and see if he can help you.

well i got a reply from the race ramps people.very helpful but WOW!price to import......The Fedex price was $575 USD Fedex priority INTL or $380 Fedex Economy Intl!!.these really do look to be the perfect solution but youch!they are looking for an australian distributor so if your interested give them a call.
guess i'll just have to keep looking........damn!

So the exact dimensions is a 4" length by 1.5" thickness piece of wood? Just confused on what you posted.
I have a set of ramps I got from Repco for $50, awesome for changing diff oil and fuel filters but have yet to put it to use on the front end, am getting lazy and dont want to use the trolley jack and stand :)

That's 4' which is 4 foot. One little mark (') means feet. Two little marks (") means inches.
And it's roughly 8 x 1.5 inches...

Or 1.2m x 200mm x 38mm in metric.

I just use cheapie ramps and pull my front bar off. takes about five mins. But then again I have heaps of timber (beinga chippy) and I am too slack to grab some off the stack but will rip the front bar off. Hmm I gotta start looking at methods of doing things....

Should look into USPS surface rate.
I would think a local sheet metal shop could knock these up no probs, get a big order going = cheaper ramps. What about that bloke that makes the brake booster brackets, maybe he could do it?

I bought a crappy pair from Super Cheep and welded a longer ramp onto the front, this still didn't clear the nose of the car so I weled yet another ramp to front, now the car goes up the ramp in three stages so that the nose clears the ramp.
Another trick I did was to drill two holes in the garage slab and drop a bolt through the ramps into the slab to stop the ramps sliding, if you happen to brake to hard on the way up.
