Give Adnvaced wheel repairs in Morrabbin a buzz, pretty much all the resto places use those guys.
Cheers.

My Holden dealer was able to fix mine whilst it was in for a service. They used a subcontractor who came out on site. I had a 6 cm gutter scratch & I can honestly say it came up like new. If the damage is more extensive, then this may not be an option for you. I was happy with the $77 charge.

I wouldnt recommend them but in melbourne there really isnt anywhere else to go. They did a horrible job on my rims and usually forces me to pay a little extra and go through insurance instead and I have the bonus of if they can't repair it too 100% of its original look then they just get replaced.

The main problem I experienced with them was the fact they found it hard to match up the shadow chrome of my existing rims and now that rim is shinier than the rest. Before I had a chance to bring the car back in I ****in scratched the same rim again so will be making another claim again soon.

That said, my mate scratched his rim, 19" ROH modenas(non shadow chrome) and they repaired his without a trace but there were still issues of time.

Anywhere else and/or any prices??
I wanna get my vy ss 18's done to freshin 'em up and get rid of some existing gutter rash!
Hopefully I can get it doen cheap cause the plan is to get them all back to original or near enough to, then drive around for a few months and see if i scratch em at all.
Cause i'm pretty sure all the marks on my wheels bar one (fu*kin dandenong plaza = sh*hole!) were done by the previous owner. Not major damage but yeah just wanna see if i mark them at all over a few months cause planning on going 19's-20's next year. But i wanna be sure i'm not forking out 2.5 K plus for nice wheels when i'm gonna scratch them cause i know i couldn't live with myself if i did!!

Neway H/Berg West fixed my BBS Rims on my old Calibra. two were bent to the point they formed figure eights when rolled due to being run off the road. Came up great and got them back to normal

I also have to replace my tyres - should I repair the rimes first and then replace the tyres or visa versa

I'd suggest seeing if whoever repairs your rims is prepared to put the new tyres on for you too as some tyre places are good at scratching rims when fitting new tyres. The tyres have to come off for the rims to be repaired anyway so why would you put new tyres on and then take the rims in for repair?

I just had my rims repaired and painted by NEWAY WHEELS and they came back looking like a 10year old had got his hands on the spray gun, shit all through the paint and crows feet on the plastic caps:vpo:

So basically im up for new rims. Very disapointing after spending $285 per rim.

Cant believe these guys can call themselves professional:flipoff:

Oh man that's shocking!!! $285 per rim for the "repairs"????? That seems like a tad high to me!!

Sorry to here that mate but have you tried talking to NEWAY to try and resolve the issue??

:bawl: What sort of rims were they? $285 ea would go a fair way towards buying most new rims. As Capt.LS2 said, I would definitely talk to them and tell them you are very disappointed in their work. Possibly let them know that you have documented the results on a very popular car forum so if they don't redress the issue they will no doubt lose a lot of business.

Be sure to let everyone know if they do though! :yup:

1st time they came back they were the darkest shadow chrome ive ever seen. i spoke to a local panel beater then ended up sending them back again. Keep in mind im 400kms from melbourne. 2nd time round they came back a colour pretty close to the original colour but the paintwork had got much worse than st time:bawl:

Only reason the rims were repaired rather than replaced is because they are no longer for sale in australia.

As i said, Professionals? My ARSE:jester:

Professionals? No shit that is bad!

I have a few good friends that work at both a large chain tyre outlet, and also a custom shop on the Gold Coast and both of them said those prices are outrageous to begin with. Remember that I am in QLD and everything car related up our way is more expensive from the get-go.

I understand you taking your wheels somewhere that you think you can trust, and it is a big issue with anything that you enjoy/love trusting it with someone else, especially when they call them selves professions. Getting that result, especially on something that is no longer easy to get over here is beyond unacceptable. They say you get what you paid for and I guess you paid for a whole lot of nothing in this case... Very very poor.

I know that up my way, heads would roll if that kind of thing happened. Not good at all mate, I hope your communications with the company involved go down well. And if it doesn't, its only a 17.5 hour drive from my door to theirs.
