I had the lumber support on my HSV bucket seat bust over the weekend.

Has anyone else experienced this ?
I am not sure if its possible to fix or expensive.

Me too...
I broke it trying to raise my arse of the seat (using my foor against the firewall foot rest) so I could squueze a fart..... the pressure leaning back into the chair just pushed the lumber apart...

Havent looked at mine either yet....

Im guessing you either snapped the cable which winds "bends" the lumbar back on itself or youve broken the weld were the lumbar joins the seat frame.

The VX has a metal lumbar and is not servicable on its own. A dealer would replace the entire back frame. It shouldnt be a hard fix, take the lumbar knob off, remove back cover, find whats wrong. If the cable is broken, splice it or crimp it back together. if the retaining lug has broken off the bottom then crimp something else back on. if youve broken a weld - reweld.

anyway ive read my advice and if youve never worked on seats then yea its sounds like jibberish, but anyway have a go.

Remember dont play with any wires..airbags and pretensioners go boom. and yes before the argument starts again IT IS POSSIBLE to set off an ab with static electricity so dont touch!

Another hint...the white clips that hold the bottom of the backcover are designed to be disengaged with a screwdriver by pressing upwards on their lip (wish I had a picture..sorry i dont). These clips are real stiff and break easy if you just yank on the backcover. Check if you local dealer sells these clips and it will save you the frustration of trying to disengage with a screwdriver. They just clip into the backcover. So if you do break them whilst pulling on the bottom of the back cover it wont matter. Have fun.
... do a search on airbags and find out what others recomend on safety with airbags. Cos if you have to weld it may be a bit dodgy doin it yourself.
