The crowds are arriving in Bathurst for the races. I tried to get through town earlier today, and up and down the main street there were just cars everywhere. Some nice bits of gear getting around (both of the automobile and female persuasion :D - as usual this time of year), but there are also some yobbos who are already making their presence felt by their driving styles, attire, and choice of languauge :cussing: in public (read: family) areas. Only gets more frantic from here, as anyone who's been here would know. Hope anyone coming has a great time. Recommendations for the pubs would be the Knickerbocker Hotel or The Family  . The Ox is under renovations. The Eddy normally has a lot of doof doof music playing if that's your thing (not mine). The Park Hotel has been advertising as a "Ford Pub" :limpy:

Finally, plenty of boys in blue round town - a lot in unmarked cars too. Just a little warning. The WestRoads Strikeforce are around - "extra cops, extra tough"  Nothing new there though for experienced campaigners!

Cheers

To all of you that are coming to Bathurst for the great race - Welcome, I'm sure you'll have a ball :D .

When it comes to watering holes 'redss' is spot on!! The Knicker and The Family are top pubs (I'm a bit of a guts when it comes to Coopers Pale and they both have it), you can get a decent feed at either pub also.

On a serious note DON'T SPEED! :bash: The place is full of the boys in blue, and you can expect them to be patrolling the roads within a 100klm radius of Bathurst. Had to go for a day trip to Sydney yesterday and saw 2 different unmarked Magna VRX's handing paperwork over to some new customers they just met.

For all of you that want to buy an ex chaser and are worried about only having the option of a Magna :( worry no more, I also saw a VZ SS and a couple of those ford things.

The Ox is still serving plenty of cool drinks as far as I know. The renovations are huge. Not much of the pub is standing.

Wiagdon hill will still be right. If you can get round those corners over 100km/h bless you... but your insane! For anyone interested, the road heading to Mudgee has a great bit of hill about 20-25 minutes out. Nice 40km/hour corners etc. Of course I always drive it with great care  , and stick to the recommended speeds around each bend...

Radio today said an extra 30 highway patrol will be in town. That probably brings the total to about 31  , but guaranteed they're going to be where you least want them!

Have a good one

Town has finally settled down again now which is good. The whole of last week it was insanely busy.

I didnt know there was so many central western people in here these days!
