Just looking at HSV's website. What is the VX-R going to be ? Are they going to change the name of the GTO or is this the "MOTOR SHOW SPECIAL"

I thought the VX-R was something that the UK got which was a rebadged Monaro or something... rings a bell

The VX-R is sold in the UK. its basicly our GTO.

Maybe its HSV's last run of Monaro's

Maybe they found a few VX (V2) series GTO's left in the back of the HSV warehouse and badged them with an "R" to help them sell. ;)

But yeah - as said the Vauxhall VX-R is basically our HSV GTO. According to Top Gear, the Japs enjoyed drifting it....and it's the same car that hurt Clarkson quite badly.

Cheers,

VXR is the Vauxhall equivalent of HSV - I rekon they are referring to the Astra VXR. Have a look here VXR (http://vauxhall.co.uk/vxr/index.jhtml)

From the Vauxhall site, both HSV GTO and Astra:

They won't want to get too used that new era of theirs, don't think it's going to last too long

My guess is that it'll be the turbo Astra.

Yeah, that's it I'd reckon PJK. Exactly the same badging on the HSV site. I thought HSV told the Newspapers that they weren't going down that path, in response to FPV's Typhoons vs GT. looks like the Fuel prices are starting to bite. But the catchphrase "Are you VX-R enough" ? Sounds like something out of a Dirty Harry movie. Well punk...are you ?

in a couple of recent articles about HSV unveiling the OPC Astra Turbo in australia, they've stated they think they'll call it a VX-R.
