I took my Monaro to Holden this morning to offload it to the DRIVE TV show.

They needed a CV8-Z for a feature they are doing for the show "last of the legend". Usually they use the dealer cars, but there are none left.

Apparently they will be doing max 20kms with it through some national park.

I got a HSV for a few days as a replacement (senator). I get it back with a full tank of fuel, fully detailed and 2 free services which should last me for the next 2 years.

Ill let you know if they scratch it or damage it in some way.... well you might see it on ACA if that happens! lol :D

very true mate..... should be a good collector thing.

And about Glen Ridge.... as long as the guy doesnt park it.
(cant imagine there would be too many tight spots in a national park :D).

Either way... it has the rear parking sensors for dummies. lol

you should ask the producers to put it on to DVD for you.

Ask them to put all of the footage, and not just the final cut for tv onto DVD.

The final cut will only be a small amount whereas the total filmed should be good.

Myles, you should also know how boring raw footage is too, I also do video production, i would only stick with the final cut. There could be hours of crappy footage, and they probably wouldnt want to release any raw footage, and i would say they wouldnt want to sit through and copy it all. But hey Cprisoner, doesnt hurt to ask if you want it. Let us know what you are able to get.

Show us the final, keep the raw footage to bore your partner with for hours on end.

Well.. it was on last saturday (29th).
They never told me when it would be on, but i had a tape ready to go anyway.
Ill try and get it online somehow.

The thing that amazed me was the fact they used my numberplates?

Does that sound strange to you guys?

Thats explains why when i was watching it seemed as though they were treating it alot better than they do to other cars they have on!! :D

That's the problem. Ridge doesn't have any opinions and simply reads of press releases. I'll never forgive him for praising the Kia Optima!

Anyway, the show in question is another show called DRIVE and is hosted by Michael Stahl, Will hagen's son and some chick that is a journalist (and couldn't tell the difference between a RR Phantom and a Kenworth.) It's on Ch10 and the first episode was last Saturday and it heavily rips off TopGear, but I'm not complaining because it's far better than The Car Show rubbish.

Yes i thought it was hilarious when they reviewed the interior.
In a nutshell they said the back seats were way too small.

Its a fricken COUPE guys! Lucky to have any room in there to begin with.
Other than that, I reckon he is full of BS. Heaps of room in the back of the Munro. Especially when you compare it to your rice-racer 4 doors.

I have to say there is plenty of room in the back of a monaro, i remember when my old man was looking at getting one, he was like oh sh$% both my kids are big, me being 6'3" and my bro being 6'4", so he got us to go have a sit in the back, i was actually in shock, we both found it quiet roomy nearly as roomy as our berlina, so where the hell is that small sh!@ coming from :bash:

cheers maccas

Absolutely, it's a bit of job getting in and out but there is heaps of room ... as cprisoner said "It's a fricken COUPE"

If they were complaining about the boot I could understand (it's ridiculously, unbelievably small), but the rear seats?

For a coupé it'd have to have among the biggest best seats around! Anyone sat in a Lexus SC430? The rear seats are terrible (about on par with the Crewman...which isn't even a 2-door  ).

Cheers,
- Febs.

I missed the show but i looks like Drive will be puutting each episode on line. Your monaro bit can be seen here (http://media.drive.com.au/?rid=17232&sy=drive&source=yahoo.drive.com.au%2FDriveTV%2F&t=03GP12&ie=1&player=wm7&rate=4950&flash=1)

Also, they could have cleaned the floor before showing the pedals :)

How can he say the Monaro is not roomy???

I'm 6 foot 4 and 115kilos....I need space. The Monaro has tons of room and the seats up front are totally comfortable with lots of leg room and head space. I reckon he didnt know how to lower the seats.

Sure.....if you drop the back of the seat to about 85 degrees to the horizontal ;)

I'm 6"2' myself and if I owned a Monaro, I'd need to also buy a crash helmet to prevent my crainum from bruising up like something that bruises a lot :(

I must be a short 6"4 then.....and you must be a tall 6"2 because I havent hit my head at all.

I agree with JIMBO...Im 6 foot 2 - and I have ample headroom in the CV8Z - even WITH the sunroof! Trust me - space is NO problem in this car at all!
