Which Air Compressor?

Hey all,

In need of a compressor for home use, mainly for air ratchet and rattle gun work, but also for general stuff, and perhaps some spray painting.

What size/capacity would people recommend? (and please don't say the bigger the better!)

12cfm or bigger are best. nothing worse than running out of air when painting etc. another thing if too small the motor runs flatout all the time trying to supply air. bigger ones tend to swithc on and off less due to the stored air capacity.

i use a super quite small unit for small jobs, not much noisier than a fridge motor. but no good for painting etc borrow or hire a big one for that. We have a 15 at work in a small workshop that is sufficent for stuff like that.

main thing is for home listen to them running before, some are real noisy buggers, need something quietish as possbile, they get anoying otherwise.
