Hi all,

Jut bought a spanking new VZ SS Ute, 6spd but now afta for power! usual story! Been reading thru every thread i can find and had decided on the GEN PD supercharger kit as the best bang for buck upgrade. Rang CAPA with the intention of ordering one but upon speaking to a guy there about what sorta power it would make on my completely stock car he replied "you would be looking at about 190rwkw with a tweaked tune based on the supplied cd". Correct me if im wrong (and i could well be as im no expert) but a 250fwkw car should be making in the vicinity of 200rwkw standard?? Why would i pay $5500 for a supercharger that would shave 10kw off my car as it is?

On the capa website, they state a VZ Monaro (STOCK) using this kit making 290rwkw!! I know the VZ monaro has a tiny bit more power than mine standard but 190 vs 290rwkw is a little bit hard for me to believe! Whats the deal?? Any tuners out there fitted this kit to a VZ SS before? Can anyone tell me what to really expect from it given my car is factory stock? Ive read all the threads on ls1.com but just about every reply contradicts somebody elses!!

Cheers guys!!
Scott

More than likley a misinterpretation. VZ SS RWKW should be in he vicinity of 190 - 210 RWKW Dependinig on the individual car. If yours ss is a 6M you should be tipping towards the top of the scale. Either way the GEN PD kit will transform your car totally and give you great drivability too. Rest assured the GEN PD should make you around the 280+ RWKW. Your talking serious power, and at tht price you can't go wrong. :)

Surely it's not that hard to work out that the guy made a verbal typo...

Cheers guys,

I thought the guy from capa may have said the wrong thing so called him again a few days later and got the same answer!! Maybe he's just trying to cover his a#s??? Anyhow, pretty sure Ill go ahead and buy one. Anyone know the best place in Melb to get one? And tuning for it too.

Try the HPF (Horsepower factory) who are sponsors of this forum and really know there stuff when it comes to this sort of thing.

Surely the guy is having some temporary brain fade. My VZ SS made 192rwkw with 600Km on the clock.

Hmmm... Haven't seen one lately make over 269 rwkw (and there have been quite a few threads on these things), non-intercooled (which they are). I don't know if I'd call that serious power, when quite a few tuned ls1's get 240 rwkw+ with bolt ons.

If you have a stock car making < 200 rwkw, put on the blower you'll make 260 rwkw and think it's the bees knees. Yet, if you got a tune first and had say 240 rwkw already, then bolt on a blower and only get another 20 rwkw or so, is that good value?

$4000 + $1200+ for custom tune + $450 for bigger injectors + $500 fitting + other extras you won't get much change out of $6500 (if at all).

Sounds right to me drewbytes one of my mates just got one of these kits fitted to his VZ clubby and it makes around the 290rwkw and he got no change out of $6500
