In that shot it kinda reminds me of the limited run on Purple Haze, although more Lancer Harlequin like.

I like it actually, but your right, it would be an expensive touch up job

would this mean that harlequin paints are going to become cheaper?

Not available on FPV, only XR range.

The FPV body kits are painted in a different place to the main body & XR bits and it would be too hard to ensure a match.

IMHO not for me

Doubt it, I think its so expensive just because of all the work required to get it right on the car...damn touch ups will be messy!

Yes that’s the RRP. I was looking at getting this colour. The first thing I did was speak to my bodyworks. They said its not hard to match not hard to spray mainly because no one can say for certain what a particular piece is meant to look like. Has something to do with being a more basic flake pattern. FPV have trouble with paint quality on their bars now. Two cars were in for repairs under warranty while I was there one car had to have a complete front bar replaced. The paint was literally falling off. The issue isn't where the FPV bars are painted but more so the people doing the job aren't good enough.

Instead of addressing the real issue FPV have elected not to offer the paint. There are plenty of red faces about and you don’t have t be standing in the right light to see them either.

Good on Ford for offering such a decent range of colours. :D

Someone once told me that with those paint jobs that change colour, you have to respray the whole damn car to get it to look right again. Surely that couldn't be right? ....... Maybe he meant the whole panel, but either way it sounds like a pain in the a$$. Safe to say that a can of touch-up paint won't come in the glovebox like back in the old days.......

Goggs:

Apparently this paint is different somehow. I cant pretend to understand it, but aas long as you add the paint to ONLY the damage affected areas it is meant to look near perfect. Something to do with the way it works, its different to other chameleon paint.

Can someone with technical nous please interject at this point?

Im pretty sure its only a chameleon pearl put into dark purple paint?

The pearl gives a slightly colour shift but its nothing like proper chamelion paint.
