Forum speed

Since both seem to be using the same v.bulletin operating system, why is it that FF pages load almost instantly and yet this forum seems to take ages. Is it my computer or settings? Being an old dinosaur, I don't understand this new-fangled stuff....

Differant hosting. The database server on FF is a lot faster. I'd say they have a dedicated server that runs their site where LS1 is shared with many sites.

No LS1 is on a dedicated server as well .. loads quite fast for me ..

They may have a better speced server however.

G'day all, sometimes the speed is good and sometimes it is awful S-L-O-W, that could be as a result of the traffic on the forum.

I've got fairly good broadband and all other sites load fairly quickly, so I 'spose that improvement may be possible, but I wouldn't know the first thing about how to achieve it.

one of the slowest sites I visit also. Running broadband on a dual 2 gig 64bit processor!
