Hello,
I have been watching this page for years and have been an active member of ff.com in the past, but I switch from Team to team, VX Berlina, EB Xr8, BA Xr8, XH Ute and latest Crewman Cross 8 (for the wife and the dogs).

What a beast, however a few little dramas, dust in the taillights (I live on a seriously long dirt road) oil leak from the front diff which of the two other cross 8's that I know, they all leak (and smell of burning oil) just like mine, I will take it into the dealer soon to see what they think.

Good fuel economy, so long as you want it to be!!

I want to get the EDIT done in Perth, and also a exhaust, anyone got any suggestions? not to loud, but the sound at the moment is nothing compared to an old FC LTD (351C) I used to own.

So are the X8's any good, I love the engine, but am worried about the AWD system, 24k and of the three X8's (including mine) they all leak from the front diff, 3 out of 3 (8k, 12k and 25k) suggests to me a major problem, anyone else know what the problem is? have they got a proper fix for it?

I haven't had a problem with mine. do a search on Adventra in this forum, you'd be surprised what some of the member's AWDs are putting out at the wheels :eek: . There's strokers and supercharged beasts putting power to the ground through all 4 paws and std CrossTrac systems. Just don't ask too loudly about longevity of the 4L60 auto :lol:

Oil leak will only be a gasket or seal, no big deal, I haven't heard of this being an issue with AWD.

Auto is the weakest link however, as long as you stay under 400 fwkW you should be fine, put a decent trannie cooler on and change the oil as soon as it turns from red to amber and you won't have a problem, use Caltex synthetic ATF, would be the best at present.

Hopefully someone got a video of my 2nd gear full lock antics on the skidpan, it will give you an idea what you can do to the AWD system :lol:
