Hi All, I've Been reading in the background and finally joined today to ask a few questions, Anyway I'm heading to perth in a couple of weeks for a holiday and have a big piss up for my 25th and to hopefully get some more power from my VX.

I've been reading the perth street commodores mag trying to find out who does good value for money work without all the Bull Shit sales approach as me and a couple of mates up here reakon half the stuff you read on these engine specs and power outputs in mags and on the net is ussually far from the truth and to be honest i've noticed some of it on here too. :p like cam only cars with 300rwkw. (Like come on guys is your dick that small?)

My car is mostly stock apart from a cheap catback and the mcai (thanks to the forum), I have about ten grand to spend on my holiday (I dont want to drink it all away) and im wanting to get some decent/reliable/believable numbers out of my car so i can smoke all these pesky imports turning up around the town.

Now the thing is i dont want to go for a supercharger/turbo coz A) I hate to give the insurance company more money then i really have to. B) it's too dam hot all the time. C) I'm a big N/A fan.

So can anyone advise me on who to get in contact with in perth to get some no BS advice on a head/cam package, I'd prefer to hear from people who had the work done on thier own car and not just things they have heard. I want real world credible information. Pm me if you feel it would be better to keep certain information private.

Cheers
Bazza

It depends on "Howquick" you want to go and if you want an honest and reliable "Sreet Quick" car do what I did and ask Dan @ Chipmaster (a Sponsor)for his workshop suggestions in WA.

DirtySS, :) as with most other operators/owners of competent workshop/dynos dealing with your type of car, have tuned and raced, 300rwkw cam only LS1s are not just pipe dreams! It is possible to acheive with well thought out cam/exhaust/tune, keep making enquiries, so u can waste those pesky ricers! :) :)

Give Mitch at WA Performance & Service Centre - http://www.waperf.com/ (another forum sponsor) a call, they'll look after you. Plenty of good cars coming out of there at the moment.

Another vote for Dan from Chipmaster! The best LS1 guru in Perth. With a low 10 second Monaro to prove it.

Active automotive did my brothers VX SS 391.7rwhp with only cam and underdrive pulley for $3100 already had twin 2 1/2" genie exhaust. Eddy did about twenty runs on the dyno to squeeze max hp. Sounds awesome and goes better :D

shop around DirtySS

you can spend your money and waste it ( such as i did )
or you can spend your money and get results ( such as i have done recently )

talk to other people and see what results they are getting

i'd back wa performance hands down with the service and results i have gotten so far.

its not a big slander post about how i don't rate the work some shops in perth have to offer, its about results and performance. the figures and results have spoken for themselves.
