If the bonnet is to be rubbed back and resprayed - yes $300 is a damn good price.

Cost me $450 for a guard with a nice, deep scratch and deep rock-strike. So I'd say $300 was good?

Was quoted $350 for a full respray to fix some small stone chips. And this was thru a contact so I would suggest $300 is a good price. Make sure it's going to be done properly..

I hope they can match the paint!!!!

I had to get the rear bar repainted this time last year, they did a fantasic job with it and to the untrained eye would you probly not pick it. Saying that though i can see it is slightly darker in different lights but I relize that you cannot get a 100% match i'd rather settle for 95% than 90% though :D

Ask questions and maybe have a look at some of the repair jobs waiting to be picked up then you judge if its a good job or not. This should be no problem in a larger type panel shop.

I would say too cheap! But ya get what you pay for... I got quoted $150 to do a rear numberplate infill panel for a ute from a "mate" that I know does a good job.

Some panel shops when they paint bonnets like to paint the tops of the guards as well to get a good match, I had a nasty rock chip on a bonnet of a previous car and all the panel shops I went to advised me to get it blended into the top of the guards as well, I decided against getting it fixed and sold it, the new owner had the bonnet done and the panel shop did just that they did the guards as well and it looked great perfect match not sure how just doing a bonnet alone goes, maybe depends on the colour.

Same here.
I had five different quotes to get my front end reprayed,
4 wouldn't do it without the guards being done and
the 5th bloke said he would do it, but If I am fussy I
may notice the diffence in colour in certain lights and
recommended I get the guards done as well. Quotes
Ranged from $800-$1100 and the one quote for the
bonnet only was $500. I got the lot done including
front bar and spoiler for $800 cash and when I hit
him up to do the rear skirt a couple of days later, he
said the paints mixed just chuck us a slab of xxxx Gold

Now thats an "Old School " business man, he looks after his customer and his
customer looks after him, My brother got quoted $ 18000 for a XA Coupe full
inside out side in custom blabk paint and a fare bit of body massaging, but the bloke said he can do it for $ 8000 cash, I'd hate to see the finished job for that price...
The job is supposed to be a trophy winner at the next Show N Shine at the Summer Nats

I am NOT going to make any comment :)

But I am hoping to get my whole car resprayed for about 3500-4000 ... + a new bodykit.

Well the guy told me i wouldnt be able to tell the difference. He has a silver VY Clubby ( i tend to like the places where the staff own similar cars makes me feel better somehow) so i guess he would understand how much i want it to look the same.
I have my own touch up paint from a tube from auto bahn, like nail polish and its hard to tel the difference so i hope they get it right.
Anyways $300 is nothing compared to the quote the other guy at work got for his Honda Jazz, it was egged 5 times while he was driving!!! $3,000 to repair, they got 4 different panels, the roof 2 times!! Little pricks!
