That would be a great way to get to a formal - way to go!

Just be careful - when I was in the limo trade, Dept Of Transport goons would stake out formal venues and pounce on private cars taking schoolies to their formals, and threatening the owners with 'hot-plating' offences (basically taking money for driving someone in your car when unlicenced to do so). There are also insurance complications for the car owner as well, and there was a story going around not so long ago about a VH Grp III that was stacked on the way to a formal with kids on board and the kids sued for injury damages - it came out that they'd paid him for the trip and his insurance company backed away and left him in the lurch.

HSV Statesman Limousines has four WH Granges and the business changed hands recently (much to everyone's relief). The new owners are pretty good and have bought a new WL Grange to update the fleet - you'll find the number in the Brissie White Pages.

Hope you find something you like :) I've seen formal kids arrive in cement trucks, ice cream vans, old Caddys, hot rods you name it over the years - the best one was a young fella that showed up with his date at the Brisbane Hilton in his Dad's new Jaguar XK8 complete with flames coming out from under the bonnet - real flames as it turned out, and the little bit of smoke he had noticed coming down Elizabeth Street had turned into a little underbonnet fire by the time they pulled up in the Hilton forecourt. One fire engine and a good drenching later, Dad and the XK8 went home on the towtruck and the young fella got the gong for the 'Entrance Of The Night.' :lol: :lol: :lol:

Most limos want $200-$300 for a trip that may only last 20 minutes or so - I've heard some stretches asking in the $400s.

Paid or not is irrev... The can claim under thrid party insurance.... comes with your rego and insurance compaines cannot back out....If you are drunk they still have to pay..... They assume that risk when they agree to offer 3rd party insurance..... Why would they bring a civil case against the driver with no real change of getting a dime when they can sue a big insurer who HAS to pay ... only question is howmuch....

Nothing is free these days. I have a car suitable but too many doors. All you can do is offer. Ive used my car a few times for School formals etc. Your hiring ME, not the car. I just happen to be driving it ;)

There are various methods of payment and a ctn of bourbon (or similar) is generally the going rate :lol:

have just done a YR10 formal tonight,took a couple of hrs of work to clean the car. Was a great turnout of cars, bikes, prime movers ect delivering the kids to there night out.Lot of fun watching the procession of cars,this year it included several early pony cars several HSV's some nice street rods and enough Harley's to start a dealership.All good fun :D

Was a great turnout of cars, bikes, prime movers ect delivering the kids to there night out.Lot of fun watching the procession of cars,this year it included several early pony cars several HSV's some nice street rods and enough Harley's to start a dealership.All good fun :D& thats how it should be . the ones i did were for friends kids & was great to see the different cars that were there. & i would never charge them a cent but were all that gratefull that a couple a weeks later they rocked over with a drink or 2 for my efforts & im sure that would not be against the law. youd have to be a real pri#k of a copper to hastle someone over trying to do a favour or 2.& its the same deal for weddings .
