wooooo there brother - saucer of milk to table 8 please... why dont you stop kidding yourself and add up your years correct - march 2004 to november 2005 isnt 2 or even almost 3 years matey
then why dont you do some research and check out how much mine is compared to others for sale and THEN why dont you list where I can buy a brand new VZ SS with leather and climate for 36g's on the road...
and finally you could even ask yourself if you were in the same situation would you pay 30grand for a car 2 years older with more than double the kays or would you spend and extra 2 grand and get a car half the age, half the kays and with leather and climate control...
talk is cheap - time to put your money where your mouth is.

There have been a few VY SS's traded through the dealership i do some work for in the low 20's recently. Of course they still try and get around 28-35k for em.
Wholesale pricing hurts :(

COMSMOS,
My mistake on the age of your car, i misread it for 03, hence why i said two almost 3 years old. Get on the phone ring some dealers and with some bargaining anything is achievable at the moment. Oh and dont go comparing your ute to what others are selling there sedans for, there two different things

thats why I am comparing my sedan to what other sedans are getting. No worries about the mistake on the age. I have priced it at the bottom of the second hand market and have wholesale appraisals at 28.5k

Sadly our LS1's are still pretty pricey here in Perth, and as I found out, hard to find low k manuals.
Seing some of the prices you guys pay over east for the VT SS's, I could have been better off flying over and driving a car back
Eg: I've seen plenty of 5L VT SS's going for 19-20k in the last 6 months.

Look up "prices" for the last two VZ V8's sold in the last 8 weeks. Then look in this Wednesday's auction "cars by category" for the next VZ V8. Lot No. 25
The last two sold for $18,700. That is a price drop of $3500 from 3 months ago.
My previously belligerent tone was because I was trying to contribute to the discussion. There is so much mis-information on this website it is not funny. There are hopefully some people who value this opportunity.

That's a bloody good price. It is still an Exec, though, ex-Police with 50-70,000Km. Wouldn't knock it back for that price, however. Would make an excellent starting point for something special.

Vulture, apologies for me being a prick. But I just want other blokes to have the opportunity to own a unit like I do. My VY2 is a great car and the VZ is better, upgraded auto and bigger MAF. Frankly, i'd rather keep this site a secret for my own benefits.

Hey, no worries. I was being a smartarse too. ;)
Thanks for the info - it was certainly an eye-opener
I will seriously consider an ex-cop LS1 like that next time as it'll probably get my wife off my back for spending so much on SSs. I'm secretly planning to get the VY edited in Brisbane in the next few months along with shorter diff - wonder if she'll notice (already has full exhaust). We had a little race today and the VZ (edited with full zorst and 3.46, auto) pulled an easy car length by 70km/h.
