Having a polarised windscreen is incredibly dangerous. If you were to have a polarised windscreen and we wearing a pair of polarised sunglass, the moment you tilt your head you will have a total black out and wont be able to see anything!

Well chilly as I said,"I heard a rumor",do you really think a cop or a ambo driver would know the difference?let alone be able to tell me where to get it from?
Isnt that 's what these very forums are for?Asking intelligent questions like this one?Instead of useless replies........... (besides I already asked two diff. cops about this & they knew squat about it! )
Ok maybe not polarised films, what about UV blocking films?Has anyone heard of this in the making?

Is that in reference to my reply? I don't think that was a useless reply. I explained that it is very dangerous to have a polarised windscreen. Off memory, in my studies, I believe this was tried once upon a time and it resulted in a number of death's.
You are allowed to tint the strip of 100mm wide at the top of your windscreen, other than that you are not allowed to apply any tinting to your windscreen. The best solution is a pair of sunglasses for when your driving, or sun shade thing when your car is parked

why are you after a UV film for the front window?
the windscreens are a laminate glass going by memory.
and all laminated glass blocks out over 99% of UV rays.

The Euros have untinted clear 99.9% UV glass that blocks heat and certain wavelength of colour. Just another fancy laminate that costs a fortune and wont allow your mobile or Etag to work inside the car. Front window must be replaced if you can get one for your car. It is not a film applied from the inside (thats illegal anywhere in Australia), it is actually sandwiched between two layers of glass.
Mates BMW 325i has this and its gonna cost his insurance about $2.5k to replace his windshield as it got badly chipped coming back from Phillip Island.
Buy 2 pairs of nice sunnies and pocket $2k and as a bonus you will look better.

BTW is does work. You can sit in the font seat in direct sunlight while driving and you dont get that burning sensation. But you still gonna need the aircon on no matter what.
