Gents,
I need some guidence, I am being offered first option to purchase my MD's Black VX SENATOR 300. It has sat nav, sunroof and towbars as options and has done around 80,000. He has just put new tyres on and has a great service record.
I know when it was purchased in late 2001 that it was aroun $105K to buy. Crazy I know, but what I would like to know is what would you pay today for this car?
Help,
SuteS

Not sure what kind of company you work for but no doubt tis a lease vehicle, so find out what the lease residual (buy out cost is) and offer that. Maybe a bit extra. Most leases are set on three years - this adds up to what youve told us - and a typical lease would have a residual value of about 30 to 45%. You could even find out who the lease company is and then call them up for a quote and ask what the residual is after three years.

The price I guess is dependant upon how good a mate he is :)
My guess....anything under 40k is good. Dont be fooled by the 105K new price tag. That 105K figure dropped to about 85k the minute he drove out the dealers driveway 4/5 years ago.

All price indicators are good, but dont forget its a four year old car.
Holden are giving away new cars at employee pricing and I heard Skaifey advertising on radio today for Clubsports $54990.................................

But hey don't forget there was only 30 of these car made...
What number is it?
My mate has build number 10.. In novembers street commodore mag..
:)
I've had mine since new and have never had any troubles whatsoever. Leather's a little worn out; not of the highest quality, and the interior feels a bit tired, maybe too much woodgrain, but can't beat it for its unique blend of style, luxury and performance. I think I paid around $97k when new. No idea what it would be worth now but redbook prices may be a tad conservative given the limited build.

Well, the MD has offered it to me for under $40K, but due to timing I don't think I can free up the funds in time. :bash:
Thanks for all who contributed, but it looks like I am going to have to miss out on this

My VXII SV300 was RRP about $96k, I bought it with 30,000km on the clock and 6 months of factory warranty left for $41k, have since seen another with 60,000km advertised for $39k so that would give you a rough idea.
Makes me laugh when I see dudes on carsales.com.au trying to flog theirs for over $50k!!
Cheers

Surely floorstock ???
Best I have seen is $59,555 drive away (NSW) for a newly made (i.e. not floor stock) Club sedan with AP 4 piston brakes & short shifter, $57,055 with no options.
Although I never checked on their floorstock pricing - at least 5 of the HSV's on the lot have been there for at least 2 months......
They have a demo R8 sedan (9,000kms) for $64.5k drive away - but am sure a keen arm twister could get it for less - although at Zupp's (wonder how much the stamp duty varies between the states) pricing, worth a trip to QLD methinks.

Cripes that's cheap. If/when I'm next in the market for a car, I'll be in touch with you Mark :) I'd snap up a Senator at that price.
