Sorry mate, i thought you were having a shot at me...
For what it's worth i haven't had a great deal to do with Sam, but found him to be a nice bloke - very straight up and down, no bullsh!t kind of guy. I was going to say something like that in the thread then realised you couldn't post, hence my comment...
Cheers,

Great write up Ken- even though I have been to Sam's workshop quite a few times and had long chats with him its always good to see more of whats going in in that shop.
One thing is for sure is Sam likes to keep himself busy, and geez he knows his way around a engine!

Great write up Ken, I, like you, only need one drive in a stroker to seal the deal. The torque is simply awesome, it makes a stock LS1 feel like a 4 cylinder (I know because I drive one every weekend). I told Sam exactly what I was looking for and he gave me the perfect solution ... couldn't be happier.
And like many others, no one but Sam's Performance touches that engine :D

Yes what more can I say about the holy grail Sam
I have the upmost privelidge and pleasure of not only having the ability to be associated with his mind blowing ability to build and tune engines, but also work along side of him every day. It's a pleasure to go to work everyday and know that close by is the countries finest LS1/LS2 engine builder and tuner, not to mention he is also just as good with other engines and Sam still has the WSID 1/4 record for the fastes n/a Gemini, plus a range of other records on the 1/4 track and also race circuits.
There are some massive changes in stall at Sam's, with some already noting Mark's employment now which most people will deal with as the face of Sam's Performance so Sam can really concentrate on doing what he does best, and that's building engines that leaves the oposition for dead, instead of answering phones all day. For those unsure, Mark is now the gentleman that the public will speak to on the phone and in person at the front desk and Mark knows his LS1/LS2's as well with a long history of working at Holden dealerships in Sydney. He is a great guy and is more than willing to make sure every customer leaves Sam's very happy.
"Team Sam's" that will be in place next year, new products that will be released for sale, the list goes on. There are some massive changes install at Sam's and if you are in need of a "power fix" for your LS1/LS2, or need some "go to whoa" or suspension to take that corner even faster then drop in and speak to Mark. You certainly won't regret it!

Sam is the man:D
He was tuning my ute, the day Animal first walked in. Hi Ken.
My ute was a total stocker, I got a mafless tune and 3.91 diff gears 213rwkw
I told him I would like to run 13.5, He said I will run a mid 13 if I didn't know how to drive, and that was enough power for a 12 if I could drive.
First time out at WSID 13.49@106.6
I must have learnt a bit in the mean time. Last week, at Calder, I got a 12.94, just like he promised:D
Thanks Sam.

I envy you, getting to work right next door to a gentleman as talented as Sam along with the great guys that work there.(got any jobs going?:p)
Good idea getting Mark in to handle the constant phone calls Sam's get on a daily base's.
I have already talked to Mark a couple of times on the phone you and won't find anyone easier to talk to with your cars.
Now Finally Sam can get some work done.:D

Then again a mafless LS-1 with 265rwkw running 13 second 1/4 miles, sounds like a HSV to me.
Wait a second ... it is a HSV

Looks like you need one of those Textralia clutches Sam is now fitting. Yes Sams Performance are an agent for Textralia Clutches.
Great bunch of lads. Got the diff, zorst and 40k service on the Monaro done a few months back and will be going in for an edit soon.
Tom's a fantastic mechanic that really will tell you straight as to whether an upgrade is a waste of money or really useful. Watched the team work for two whole days while moping around and I must say that it was the most fun I had in a long time (never been round a workshop prior).
Will never let anyone work on my car after seeing the care put into the work that these lads do

Great right up Ken,
Everything mention in the right up true to the word, I have been going to Sam's for almost 10 years, he has build me quite a few engines for a few different car, all I can say, that Sam built me an engine that got me into the 9's,
thanks Sam's,
PS, look out for the red maloo early on the new year.
Cheers

Sam built my 412cubic inch ls2 maloo and we are pulling 308rwkw. I will not go any where other than Sams and he even does my servicing on the maloo.

What other mods?
What sort of exhaust? intake? cam? heads?
Auto or Manual.
This figure seems really low for a 412ci...
plenty of 383 ls1's with 340+rwkw running about...
Do get me wrong, Sam does good work, but its just seems low.
thanks

You will note this thread doesnt start with
once upon a time
or end with
they all lived happily ever after.
You may see plenty of 383s making 340rwkw on the net but not as many in real life. Shit, i've even seen 6tr bolt ons making around 400rwhp on the net but have yet to see one in real life. If it could really be done I would pay to get the bolt ons andf get it done to my GF's 6ltr if they could make 400rwhp on Sams dyno
Cam selection, head selection, intake manifold etc etc will make the difference so it all comes down to how far you want to go and what you plan to do with the engine/car. Big top end numbers are not what everyone wants. Some are just after the low down torque a stroker gives without the big topend number.
Just a tip. Dont believe everything you read on the net.

where???
Animal

This figure seems really low for a 412ci...
Based on the amount of strokers in vehicles that you have ran on your dyno, built from scratch & worked on with your own hands, driven and raced yourself ..... none I'm betting
plenty of 383 ls1's with 340+rwkw running about...
As already mentioned , strokers are built for torque, not rwkw.
Fairy tales ... where ......
And here is a link to Powertorques dyno day results http://300kws.com/PTDynoDay2006/
There were some serious cars there that day, and I chose their results so as not to look biased.
