Houston...we have a problem...?

noticed the site was down for a few hours today
I guess this was unscheduled
but curiuosly enough, a few other forums
I belong to, have also been off the air today
...also unscheduled maintenance (well, thats what they called it )

I have had some emails from mates in various IT positions
who mention they are getting DOS attacks today on their
work email servers
and I have been getting a LOT (like a cupla hundred)
old virus emails (thank goodness for Mailwasher)

anyone else..????

oh...and I notice our smilies don't work anymore

it was coming up with abox to type a name and password in. i couldn't get it so left the computer for a little while.

I was getting the "unauthorized" message, same as what you get when you're banned... had me concerned until I clicked on my PM and got a maintenance on server is happening message..

i am also getting this special logon request
enter Username and password
to logon onto 'Private' Ls1.com.au
and I am only clicking on the same bookmark as usual

eventually it lets me in

we at work at getting old virus emails with exe's in them
last count..about 150 an hour

shesh, forum goes down for some forum upgrades and people think the world is ending...
New forum software was/is being installed by Sidey atm.
If the forum is down, we know, no need to email or post about as it will more then likely already being sorted out.

Hey I pay damn good money to access this site and I expect 5 x 9's in terms of uptime and advanced warning of outages as per the agreed Service Level Agreement - what sort of roadshow are you running here ???????

Yes there are problems at the moment .. no upgrade goes well if you don't have development hardware ...

There appears to be an issue with the new content management portal system (frontt page) where it really loads up the server for some reason so it is currently disabled until I work out what the issue is ..

This takes time and I've spent over 12 hours solid on this today, I am working on it but don't expect it to be all back up and running in 5 mins ..

and EVERYONE was warned that there were going to be outages, it's just I didn't get to doing it until a week later than originally planned.
