Hi guys, a couple of things you may or may not be aware of since the outage today.
1. Timeslips database says I do not have permission to access the area. Definintely not a validation issue as I can still access the private areas. Also the edit vehicle profile button in "USER CP" goes to a blank page.
2. Validated/ Non-validated orange text "missing" (or removed) under user name.
Neither is life threatening or urgent, but if you don't know, you can't act.

Forum is being upgraded to latest software version. Many of the "unique" facets of our forum must be custom made and take time.
Sidey is on the case, all will be put right in time.
Keeping the forum updated and to its usual high quality standard is no mean feat, and like all good things takes time.....especially when its done in spare time!!!
(Which Sidey does not have alot of!)
Bare with us please.

Absolutely.
Trying to assist in the process rather than complain about it.
Hope the post wasn't misinterpreted.

I dont know if its just me who is experiencing this problem.
Everytime I come to the site, from multiple computers, i log on, and am redirected to www.ls1.com.au/profiles.php which returns a 404 HTTP error.
I then clear the address and go to www.ls1.com.au and its fine.
Any ideas?

Ahh I was wondering where or what actions on the forum were generating that error in the logs .. I'll investigate it, when does it redirect you to profiles.php .. does it show you the "thankyou" screen after logging in before redirecting to profiles.php .. also what login method are you using? The login box at the top of the page or some other login page?
As for the speed we are working on it.. the upgrades are still not yet complete but rather than having the forums closed for a few days while we get it all going we thought it better to leave it open so you all don't get withdrawl symptoms hehe :p

Sidey,
mines setup as always logged in and when i go to www.ls1.com.au, it takes a while to load, then pops up page cant be found with www.ls1.com.au/profiles.php .
i take away profiles.php and it works .
another thing i have noticed
i now have
"Hello monarocv8z,
Our records indicate that you have never posted to our site before! Why not make your first post today by saying hello to our community in our Introductions forum.
Why not start with your first post today and become an active part Australian LS1 and Holden Forums forums now! "
on every page. i have posted b4....

There are many new features coming and that message is one of them, it still needs a bit of fine tuning as it is looking at post count which only goes up if you post in the tech sections :)
As for the profile.php error .. I have tried this and do not get the error, are you going to a bookmark or are you typing in www.ls1.com.au into the address bar ?
Oh also the Timeslip Database is presently offline until I can port it to the new software, this includes the vehicle profile.

The profiles.php error, seems to have gone after clearing cookies. I tried this earleier though and initially it didnt work.
To answer the part about a "thank you", yes, it would, then redirect to profiles.php...
But seems to be fixed for me.
others?

The response time for loading of the site then navigating around seems to be really slow. I dont want to sound whingy but is it my system or a temporary slowdown of the site due to changes? I am on broadband cable and my system is ordinarily very fast.

If you've been reading the thread you would have noticed that I mentioned things will be a little slow for a day or two as I recompile the software that runs the back end of the forum. Please be patient. There are plans to improve things significantly early next year. :)
