Now how is this for service.

I phoned Sonny last Wednesday morning to see if he could install a Textralia clutch for me as the stock clutch was starting to slip badly. Problem was, I needed it done before heading off to WSID on Sunday.

I was expecting howls of laughter at this request but luckily for me, another customer had rescheduled and Sonny booked me in for Friday morning. "No problems at all Scott, just make sure you can do 100km's of stop start driving before you take it down the strip" No problems with that request.

While the gearbox was out, I got Sonny to fit a Rip Shifter as well.

So after watching the install and chatting to RAD300 who was also there, Sonny gets me to jump in the passenger seat and we go for a spin. He explained and demonstrated everything I needed to do to make sure the thing beds in properly and then gets me behind the wheel.

Plenty of shudder for the few km's we did stopping and taking off. By the time we got back to the workshop, 80% of it had gone. By the time I got home, 90% had gone.

Then there is the rip shifter. From mush to click, its in gear !!! Amazing how this devise can totally transform the feel of the gearbox.

So at WSID yesterday (my second time down the strip) I had 29 runs (plenty of them within 5 minutes of each other) and this clutch was just magic! Only slip I got this time was the rear wheels  29 runs and not 1 gear missed with the Rip Shifter :D Just a pity I can't peddle the thing yet

So with these 2 mods, I went from a 13.6 @ 105 to a 13.4 @ 107 in 31C heat (56C track temp).

Then I threw Erik (Lautray) the keys as he was driving everyones car and getting more out of them and the first pass he did a 13.04 @ 110mph !!!!

Driving in to work today, I honestly can't pick the difference in how it operates compared to the old stock one, with 1 exception. It grips like nothing else ! Shudder is gone and the peddle feel is great.

Sonny, thank you for the exceptional service and for taking the time to explain what I needed to do prior to punishing a 2 day old clutch. Astounding product.

Cheers,

Scott

You know you want to D :D You can drool over it again on Sunday if you want. Some locktite goes a long way to keeping the shifter feeling solid I've learnt, its just in and out so often that I haven't bothered yet.

Can any of you boys tell me who fits TEXtralia's in Melbourne, and is it just the one model for LS1's?

Cheers.
