Hi,

I spoke to a recommended forum sponser who has done over 500+ tunes to give me advise on my VZ.

I was talking to him about headers and exhaust.

He recommended HM headers 1 5/8" , high flow cats, twin 2 1/2" pipes.

He then also told me that 2 VZ utes came in on the same day for a tune.

One was stock as a rock with the original exhaust and the other had headers and a full exhaust system.

The stock ute made more rwkw before the tune.

It also made more rwkw after the tune than the one with the headers and exhaust system.

He told me holdens have improved their exhaust system for an increase low down torque to compete against the xr6t.

How can a stock car be tuned to have more rwkw b4 and after a tune ????

I have put a twin 2 1/2 " cat back system on my VZ, MCAI 2 hole, k & N air filter, 3.73 gearing, do you think this will have a negative affect on the tune ????

Advise please

gday Oscillator....

Please look at my earlier post on another thread......i got a MAF tune done today, with no other mods done to my car!

Thanks to Doughboy and the Tuna - I got an extra 40 horses strapped to the front of my Z.....without anything else except the tune! :D

MAFLESS would definitely yield a few more horses.....no doubt about it. And so would extracters etc....but at the end of the day, i measure my "bang for buck" as kilowatts gained per Dollar! I would say going the whole hog would yield another 20 or so horses...but the cost to get those 20 horsies diminishes the bang for buck factor compared to doing just the MAF!

Just my opinion anyway......
