Hi,

I'm a relative newbie having only discovered this forum about a month ago. I'm sure I'm not alone with my problem regarding the jargon used here. Terms like OTRCAI, MCAI, PT, edit etc., were all foreign to me until I used the search function, did alot of reading & worked most of it out for myself.

However, there are still some things (cats, tri-y or 4>1) that I haven't worked out yet. I'm not posting this here so that people can explain these terms to me, rather I would like to know if there is a spot on this site where all of these things are explained, please?

Whenever I do a search, in every thread I come across, people are assuming everyone knows everyone is talking about. Most of the time, I will find out what something is because one of the forum sponsors will jump in & explain exactly what a particular item is & why it is that way. However, this involves searching through mountains of threads trying to find the one post that explains everything.

I don't like to post a question such as "What is an edit?", not because I am embarrassed at not knowing (everyone has to learn at some time), but, rather, it ties the forum up. I do PM people sometimes to get an answer & (almost) everyone is more than helpful. The only person I have had trouble getting an answer from is "Animal" from Sam's. This is particularly frustrating for me as I would like to get Sam's to do the work for me when I am ready (I've read on this forum where they are the best) even if it means travelling to Sydney for a day or two.

I've found the glossary where Sidewinder has explained various terms & also tried "search" & "FAQ", but is there anything else?

Troy.

I guess the easiest thing to do is ask in the thread to which you want to know what they are talking about, you have to leanr somehow :)
But cats is the Catalytic Convertor (sp?) Tri-y and 4 into 1 are both terms used with extractors and how they 'merge' ie, 4 pipes into 1 and i THINK tri y is stepped from 4-3-2 then into the main pipe.. Im sure this will corrected, But generally if you are unsure of what someone is talking about, simply ask in the thread and someone will happily explain it for you :)

Y Y
Y
2 into 1 then 2 into 1 then merge them both gives you 3 y joins = tri Y
