I've noticed a lot of talk lately about records being broken with lightening of the car, removing seats, tailgates, even dropping the tailgate to gain time improvements etc. Ive read posts that have questioned a certain red SS ute, saying that it had more holes than an onion bag.
To stop any confusion as to OUR record breaking ute, it ran 11.86 @ 112mph on pump fuel, slicks and front runners, with race exhaust. Below is the link to watch the run at Calder Park, it was such a rushed night, we forgot to put the tailgate down.

Im not saying there is anything wrong with lighening the car to acheive better results, as this is something we will be considering with two of our customers utes we will be unleashing next year.

The main thing is that people weigh their cars with driver - so that comparisons can be made. Without that there is no way of comparing anyone.
What was its 60 footer? Seemed not to have launched with that high a revs??

Like I stated Im not against lightening of the cars to achieve results. This car had a 60ft of 1.76 and if you watch the take off, there is a lot of wheel spin. If we had more time on the night we could have addressed that problem and most likely had better results.

It probably does to the forum sponsors, It's a way to advertise the results they can give the customers.
Anyone can tell you how good they are, but most people want to see some sort of proof, their time slips are their proof.
Some of the records have been set by customers cars, not just the workshops cars, that in itself is some good proof.
