Only a few days out from 2006. Are there any changes happening for the rest of the commodore range, in particular the sv6?

I think the Turbo hurts Ford more then Holden, Who would buy a Ford V8 when the turbo is if not better only just off it and cheaper.
But a Turbo V6 sounds good:D

It may be hurting V8 sales but I bet they are selling more cars then they would be i they didnt have the XR6T. Got to admit a nicely balanced car that has actually done wonders for Ford.

To be honest, They needed a hero car:D
In some way it balances out they dont have a coupe, they don't have a Crewman, They can't match the SV8, Closest they come is the XR6T.
I don't know how far a single turbo V6 would go? 230kw?

True but on the other side of the dice. Holden 1 Tonners are lemons and AWD lets not go there. Both of which are strong selling cars for Fords.

Your right the Ford V8mtrs still are not up to the power that the Chev's can produce. A XT powered 5.4 220 Kw manual cannot match the SV8 for outright performance but does in trans & handeling.
But the Fords 6cly Turbo is a awsome mtr & nizpro have pulled a 1000hp out it. Ford engineers had to detune the F6 Typhoons as over 300Kw were able to be achieved easily . So they detuned it to be less poerful on figs than the GT 290 Ford. It still beats it in performance anyway.
.
GM soon won't have their neatest looking car the Monaro's shame really.
In saying that Ford has not got a crewman but G.M.H cannot match there Territory as yet.

It seems to me that everyone wants something different - naturally enough. Does anyone remember the glory days of the 70's when you could order your Torana with a choice of 5 engines? - a 4cyl, 2 6cyls and 2 8cyls?
Unfortunately it would seem that offering so many engines is not really feasible any more, and this shows in manufacturers' product planning.
Would people on this forum prefer to have a choice or more 6cyls (perhaps a standard and turbo/supercharged), or more 8 cyls (although it would seem we have a choice of 2 right now)?
Thoughts anyone? Holden - any thoughts from a manufacturer's perspective?

No, the engines are the same as VZ commodore engines.

This would only be to have the SV6 the fastest V6 in the range. Till Turbo:)
It's been a wile since Holden first played with the Torana and it's engine, They must be able to build it for production by now they have had long enough to develop it.

Will there be any availability in the future to other 'Alloytec' motors in the family? i.e the turbo version that will appear in the SAAB Turbo?
I hope they go back to selling manuals in the V6 range. Annoying that they are as rare as Hen's teeth.

I think thast if holden did a v6 turbo, it would hurt their v8 sales as well. They have 190kw out fo a na, how much is a turbo 6 gonna make? u would think a lot more. And it would be lighter.
