So there I was having just finished washing and polishing the Clubbie in preparation for taking a drive in town to watch the Moonlight Ciniema in town with the missus. Happily cruising along behind a taxi when suddenly he decides to wash his windscreen and spray all his cr@p onto my freshly polished ride!

Is it just me that finds this damn inconsiderate? I would always check behind me before hitting the washers so as not to put anyone off :box:

Anyway rant over :D

i'd prefer for him to have a clean windscreen so he can see where he is going. a bit of muck will wash off, dents wont.

its the ones driving along ...
drinking coffee having a smoke putting on makeup
talking on the phone changing the CD
eating an icecream..or in one case feeding
the kids in the back seat
or all of the above at the same time

who then decide to occupy the same piece of road as you
..that I worry about

Driving slow in the fast lane seems to be the go up here in Brissy. I noticed this straight away after moving up from Sydney 2 years ago.

No joke I saw a woman in a Barina on the highway talking on the phone and putting on her lippy at 100km/h. It got my attention as I saw her swerving all over the place and realised she was steering with her knees!.

No offense to the responsible female drivers out there ;)

umm ok

Washed the Adventra on Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday morning, pull onto the motorway. Cop spray. Just put rain x on the windscreen but it doesnt really work for such little annoying droplets.
Thursday morning pull onto the motorway, cop spray
Friday morning ... you know the story

Wash the car again at work before I left on Friday afternoon.

Get almost 75% the way down the motorway and err, yeah

Is it because I'm trying to keep a clean car, or what??

I'm sure there was a law where they weren't allowed to do that afew years back. I can't remember when but I think they changed it...... for the worse IMO.

:hmmm:
What's also annoying is people who think it's a "fast" lane and they can sit there at certin speeds. I'm sure they're called overtaking lanes, and everyone should keep left unless they're overtaking.

:bash:
However I do agree: although someone slightly over the limit sitting in the right lanes is annoying, the people at or under with a whole road to choose from are WAY worse.

I find that just having my headlights and fog lamps always on helps people see me coming and they (9 times out of 10) move outta my way. (It looks cool too.) Sometimes I find the traffic clearest in the left lane, and do my best overtaking (like 5 minutes worth!) in the "slow" lane.
Giving Sydney drivers a serve back; indicating after the fact is about as useful as sending me a letter! :p Just got back from a 2,000 Km round trip in my V8 with the family, and what really annoyed me was people who cued up behind a slow vehicle instead of leaving a space for me to make a move when I could but they couldn't. I'm sure a few people tsk tsked as I passed 3 and 4 at a time - but they made me do it (only when safe of course, which is more often with 250kw+)!

Only after reading on here the complaints about people driving in the overtaking lane... I have really been noticing it lately... I never realised how bad to really was... For some reason now i have been getting real pissed with drivers that do it, especially when the car in the left is going 5 k/m under the limt and they are in the right also going 5k/m under and you cant pass them!!! and they will do this for a while...

I thought driving with your lights on in the daytime was illegal.... hope it isnt as i always drive with my parkers and driving lights on if im on the freeways....

Bit off topic here

Just jumped into the clubbie to race down to Bp to pick up some things, Start car, open garage with remote, take off down the driveway. I know all the kids are out the back and a big crunch. Get out, a bloody pushbike jammed under the front, paint missing off the clubbie too. Talk about one pissed off person here :flamin:

I must admit im with you on this one, must be just the both of us! Only seems to happen just after I wash the car! Clean windows are important but give them a shot when stopped at the lights. It always seems to be on the freeway at 100kmhr and soaks ever car behind!!

It's never illegal to have factory fitted lights on, in fact it's recommended for increased visibilty, especially on highways and freeways. Parking lights are strictly for parking though, and IMO don't really enhance visibilty at all when driving, either for you or of you.

So can you get done for driving with the parkers on?? When i say parkers i mean cause you cant just have the driving/fog lights on without the parkers being on aswell... so i would have the parkers AND driving/fog lights on... (which I think the driving/fog lights are just as bright as headlights without being overkill during the day IMO) .. or is it better to have full headlights on and driving/fog lamps on...

On the topic... I would rather have my car sprayed with someones washer water (as it is only water) then my car shit on by a bunch of birds just after washing it... (now that is inconsidarate and seems to always happen) Atleast the washer water just evaporates off...

HSV Z Clubbie mate I feel for you. So did the kids cop a bollocking or you just copped it on the chin yourself?? ;)

Good to know I am not alone Raff :D I was beginning to think I had some sort of anger management problem :p As you said it can be done at the lights and if it was that bad then pull into a servo and scrub the windscreen.

Then again maybe I should stop whingeing and get a life :D :booty:

Nothing a home brew wont fix

Sorry - my bad.

It's only my opinion that parking lights are only for parking. It just doesn't help at anything greater than 50 metres, and then only if stationary - unless it's just to let you use your driving/fog lights.

Worse than washer waste? Worse than bird crap?

Bat crap. Sweet, fruity, acidic, paint stripping CRAP!!!

Thanks Giant... :)

I dunno... maybe they should all just turn their washer jets to face the left and use them to get pedestrians :D :D That will solve the issue of them getting the cars behind them....

You must not own a black car. It evaporates alright but leaves dotted water marks down the bonnet and sides of the car!!

I only do it when im moving at very low speeds as it runs along the passenger and driver side window and when it dries it looks like someone wiped their ass on it.

Care to share a few stories.

I think it would be interesting to put a few cameras in trucks for a few days. Would probably make for amusing/amazing Television.

I drive perhaps 3 hours per day and see all kinds of amazing driving. ;)

It isnt that difficult to wait until you dont have someone near you before you clean the screen,,,,,,,I give mine a squirt often and always take the time to check over the shoulder.

What DOES cheese me off is sprinklers....too often Im cruising a country road and the SAME farms have the sprinklers spraying the road instead of their crops. Nice water waste.....dont scream for more water unless you're using it efficiently in the first place?
