Hi All,
I have a 02 VX II V6 Commodore and currently it just has the standard suspension under it. I was thinking of going to something of the likes of new matching monroe shocks to suit 30mm lower lovells springs at a cost of around the $800 mark installed.

Alternatively I was thinking of getting the standard FE2 (It seems to be relatively cheap to find on eBay and various other places) that is new or in really good nik and getting my mechanic to put it in but I don’t know if it will be about 30mm lower also? (NRMA Guidelines ;) )

I’m not going to the track to do laps in nor will I be doing any drifting - lol!

So any ideas and what are your thoughts? Is there anyone in Brisbane that you might recommend otherwise for what I want to do or is there someone down there that would be willing to do it with my assistance (I’m not quite confident to tackle this one myself ;) )

Thanks peoples!

I've been told that Monaro coils and shocks are better gear than FE2. You'd need to confirn this though. You can't believe everything you hear.

If this rumour is correct, it should be OK with an insurance Co too as it's standard equipment (at least on the Monaro).

it's borderline i know "only 5-10mm "

"springs sag as do girls breasts "

we would love them to stay firm but these things happen ?

Cheers Tim

Who with? I just informed AAMI I was lowering mine and their only requirement is that it is still roadworthy (I have it in writing).

NRMA, they will only let me go 30mm lower then what it is in stock form.
(This is QLD also)

Mine has FE2 (VY SS). Its pretty low to start with and I may be rapidly becoming an old fart, but I wouldn't want to go much lower.

Its also pretty firm, and I doubt I'd want much more in the way of spring rate. (Maybe a bit bigger in swaybar though)

A decent suspension joint should be able to do FE2 equivalent spec, or install genuine stuff that either you or they source. Fulcum or Motsons seem pretty good.

i would stick with the lovells and munro shocks it will give u a nice ride and look ok too. i have pedders springs and fe2 shocks and the ride is ok but a freind of mine had kings springs and munro shocks put in and the ride is fantastic heaps better the fe2.
