View Full Version : VN timing cover.
I'm sure this has already been discussed so if someone could give me a link it would be lots of help. How do you put the timing cover back on without pushing back the rubber gasket? Do I have to loosen the sump bolts?
Cheers
Chris.

If you are talking about a Holden V8, the best thing to do is using a nice sharp stanley knife blade, cut the rubber bit off where it dissapears under the sump and use a nice big bead of ultro blue silicone in its place to seal up the front of the sump to the timing cover.
I forgot to mention it is a V6 motor.

I replaced the chain tensioner on my neice's <sp?> VN V6 and got the cover back on without undoing the sump.
