Altenative title: "How to spoil a week's holiday in Brisbane" :bawl:

We were in Brisbane less than 24 hours when I was involved in "an incident" with a QLD driver. Can anyone please tell me who AAMI use for their repairs in the ACT? I'm just tossing up whether I should take them up on their offer to get two quotes myself or trust their preferred repairers to do a good job.

It really did crumple like an aluminium can. Only a tiny bit of paint off the rear corner of the other vehicle (Astra hatch). Must be a soft spot...

Spose I should post a photo (you thought the tailgate was bad, Kurt  )...

Just get your preffered repairer to do it, at least then u know whats going on. AAMI i have found ar good with there valet service though, you just take them the car they taxi you to home/work and they look after it all keeping you informed along the way.

Hope it helps.

Kurt, I'll explain all once it's fixed and paid for (or outside the public forum if you can't wait)...

Thanks Scott, I'll give them a go.

not judging by the 4 qld plated vehicles I saw this morning on my travels around Canberra....

anyway, as far as I am aware AAMI will let you choose your own repairer, and David Hand at Fyshwick is good.

Thanks Goggles. Yeah, the options are: a) leave it with them and pick it up when fixed by their preferred repairer; or, b) get 2 quotes myself from whoever I want and take them to AAMI where their assessors will approve either/both of them if ok.

I'm sure they wouldn't use dodgy repairers, but I thought if I had the choice and someone else could do a good job, why not.

make sure you inspect the car before picking up out in the sun light, my car got backed into after i had it for 3 days :(, aami had it reparied and the job was far from the best... i spent 4 hours polishing the over spray off the front bar etc,
