Has anyone had all the black plastic on their Adventra or Cross8’s painted?
My Adventra is now just over a year old and all the black plastic is starting to look very ordinary. The only way to keep it looking good is to keep applying the bumper sheen and keep the paint polish away from it.
My concern with having the black plastic colour coded to car is that the black plastic is a textured finish and if painted will produce a painted textured finish. Will the textured finish reflect light differently making the car look as thou the paint is not colour matched?

The VY SV8 has the side and front skirts made out of the textured plastic and painted to match the body. Mine is black so you don't really notice but I have seen silver and red SV8s and it seems to look OK.

I had the strips that run over the roof on the ute painted when I first bought it - yes I know - the car is black anyway - but looks heaps better IMHO.
Yes the texture is still there - but looks heaps better...

Same as the last guys, I've painted the plastic on my VTII. Check out the result and see if you think its worth it.

The HSV Avalanches (wagon and XUV) both have body-coloured flares and other bits. not sure if they are the standard Holden parts (the textured finish) or a HSV-specific item, but they do look good :yup:

if its prepared properly with some plastic primer and painted properly the textures will not show through. Ive seen a couple of adventra with it done,

Hard to tell in these photos if it's still the textured material...

I am 99% sure they are the same part as HSV uses. I had to get one replaced after my Dad forgot it was there and swiped a pole in a shopping centre :hmmm: came black and they painted it silver. It's like the bumpers, if painted properly they look like metal ... huge improvement IMHO, but I am probably biased.
