Am planning on picking up a set of new tyres while I am in Melbourne next week.

Need 2 times 245/40/18 and 2 times 265/35/18 tyres.

Anyone able to point me in the direction of the dealer(s) who do the best deals?

I am happy to look at Sumitomos, Nankangs etc.

Cheers
David

I'll second that, always found I have got a good price from Michael at Tyre Power Blackburn, he has always been cheaper than most other outlets.

2 questions:

Are these Sumitomo tyres recommended?

Is this Sumitomo, the same Sumitomo of Mitsui Sumitomo?

Steve.

I now always deal with Tyrepower Sunshine

Either Mark or Olly look after me. Their prices are very hard to beat.

I'm guessing you've benefitted from a big mistake made by some pimpley faced kid new to the job. :D There is not enough margin in tyres for someone to better everyone else by that much. $50 I could believe at a stretch, though not from K-Mart. I have often checked with them when buying new tyres and never found their prices to be all that good.
