I think you will find it is the amount of letters in the search. NVU is only 3 letters and too short for the search machine!

I'm looking into it .. MySQL full text search has a 4 character minimum.

Sidey, on the subject of searching, is there any way you search for phrases?
Putting them in quotes (i.e. "VY CALAIS" as per google etc) still searches for the individual words.
Also/similarly, can you search for results that only include ALL search terms, rather than any? Using "AND" doesn't change the results from individual key word searches.

Nope .. however there is a google site search plugin for vbulletin .. I'll have a look into it and see if it actually does what you want.

Thanks.
I didn't expect that kind of action, but it would be welcome if it was deemed worth the effort.

Yes, spot on, I have been having this exact same issue when searching for certain posts. "Diff Oil" displays all forums with diff and oil which is just too many results. I am sure this only started happening, I know the search function would search for the certain phrases before.

It's actually a Google site map addon .. so not sure if it fits the bill really.

No worries.
Thanks for the investigation regardless.

Boolean searches now work as to quotes ..
Ie searching for
Diff and Oil Will return threads where diff and oil exist
"Diff Oil" will return threads where the phrase Diff Oil exists for example :D
