Hi boys,

I might be looking into a VY Commodore soon, With around 120,000k/m.
I was wondering does anyone know if the Fuel economy drops bad as it ages in km's?
This is around a 2002 model Auto V6, The cars I'm looking at have about 95,000km to 121,000km.
My current ride tranny less runs a full tank in 260km. I was hoping a VY would run a full tank for me per month @ around 550km, Is this possible?
Thanks :)

I filled the company VY V6 Exec the other day and when I checked the puter, it told me I had 480 kms til empty.

Would be nice if my LS1 was similar.

Getting 20.6L / 100kms outta the beast!!

Thanks guys, My current ride the VP if i had Trip computer would read about 22LT per 100km.
I have been in contact about a similar priced VXII Commodore, But i like the VY's looks better.

I don't think i will be flogging it much i know it will be a shock to to something slower but all over it will be better for my mum and i.
But I'll miss the VP's power but not it's fuel economy:D

Interesting but with a light foot and cruising at 100km/h with a bit of stop start traffic I get about 585 km's to 56 liters in VX, thought it does have a free flow exhuast, cats removed and a UNICHIP.

Its an A4 by the way

I'm banking on 500km plus to a full tank to pay for this car:p.
If i can get over 500km to the full tank then i will save $100min per month in petrol, Straight into the car payments it will go:D.

Maybe you should figure out what is wrong with your VP? 22 per 100 AINT RIGHT! My old modified V8 VP used to do 10s on the freeway

If you have to count fuel dollars like that, you really should look at something that is easier to afford... Fuel is the smallest 'part' of the cost of ownership. especially if you are paying interest on borrowed money on a depreciating asset... blah blah

my gen 3 calais does an average 10.2 highway all day(very happy), but 29.0 around town maybe the foot is to blame. my mates vy v6 only does 9.5 on the highway!

My VY11 now does, thanks to a mail order edit, 8.4lt/100klms on freeway amd 14litres/100klms around town.
Before the edit it was atrocious.
Thanks Dan.

Mail order edit from Chipmaster.........took the PCM out, sent it to Chipmaster, they edit & send back, I put it back in & a lot happier!!

It's very easy.

I got my stock standard (no edit/exhaust/nothin) VZ Exec LS1 yesterday so I took it for a 200km run up the coast.

Got back and the dash is glowing 9.7L per 100km!!!!!! :6bow:

Either she's a freak or I drive like a :limpy:

You know what's funny, A car that eats petrol like it does doesn't effect it's running at all, We done the injectors done the tune and all, 2 things left are fuel reg and Oxygen sensor, But it's done a tranny so it's starting to P%#s me off:D
On the fuel side it's not even bad it's totally rotten,
It wouldn't be strange for me on pay day to stick 67Lt @ around $80 in it, Then $20 then $10 then $30, By this time i might of as well stuck another full tank in, It only smell rich like when starting up, You don't smell petrol in it or at the front, But it doesn't seem to come out the exhaust. I'm really sick of it it's starting to cost money now for this one problem, I put that aside and it's a nice quite smooth car to drive, Very unlike the Buick V6( So i get a hot dog:D) It's bog stock and the fastest V6 i have drove, 1 month ago at the light i stuck it into 1st gave it a little rev and launched it, My god it left with smoke screaming from the rears and left a 20 meter mark.
I will miss the power but i just need more modern, The A/C is toast Bering plate needs fixing, The Y in the exhaust is done with pancakes, The Cat is burnt out almost, drivers door lock is almost gone with the 4 central locking motors, Rotors are due for a change, And the fuel issues, If i fixed all them things it would be fantastic, But now the tranny has gone so they get pushed back again.
But i can't complain a great deal i bought it for $1700 with almost 290,000km on it. It was never in a accident and it wasn't thrashed around just not cleaned. Lucky the owner was my brother mate and he used it as the work car and my brother said it was a good tuff car, But it's getting on now.

If i get the finance the payments aren't to bad at all $217 per month i was shocked.
