M7 = roughly $6 then M2 $2.20 no M5 toll

M7 is electronic, no cash, like Melbourne

Welcome to NSW and its bullshi@ tolls. It costs you an arm and a leg to get around Sydney now.

For example, I live at Castle Hill and If I was to take all the tolls to the airport I would be up for

M2 - $3.80 each way (total $7.60)
Harbour Tunnel $3.00
Eastern Distributor $3.80

It costs a fortune to get anywhere.

That M7 tolling is very sneaky. It costs $5.88 to go from the M2 to the M4 along the M7. It onlys costs another 10cents to go all the way to the M5. They make it sound so good to the public when they state that it costs 29.91cents per kilometer capped at 20km. It works the same in reverse, M5 to the M4. Who signed off on that bodgey deal. Mr Carr no doubt.
Sorry, I am so pee'd off with the tolls in this state.

Agree again, geez I keep agreeing tonight.

Tolls in Sydney are &^%$#

Kick out the Gov, they are hopeless, but what then ?

just did a whereis.com and made no sense to what you guys have suggested?
maybe the old slow way might be best

Hi RARASV8,

You'd be using the full length of the new M7 so it might be worth your while. If you're not used to Sydney, it will take a lot of the hassle out of navigating through Sydney. The freeway will save you about 30 - 40 mins and petrol too.

The ulternative route is up the old Cumberland Highway.

As TigerSS said, look at the M7 web site. Going from Hume Hwy to Hornsby you wouldn't consider any route other than the M7. Even my Mrs can use it and not get lost (and save 3/4 hr minimum)!

if i had just read what Azza said i think i would be fine:rolleyes:
have since found a map and realise where the end of the m7 is:doh: this was what was confusing me, as not noing Sydney well, but driving the same route for 13 or so years at 1-2 trips a year, i just followed the same path and didn't really take notice of street signs as i've been to busy trying to keep up with the SYDNEY way of driving:nos:
thanks again all
Garry

RedVYIISS: if a woman can find their way, i hope i won't get lost:1peek:

Pay the money gladly and take the M7 M2 route. Campbelltown to Hornsby in 40 minutes.....you cant beat that!!!

Just a quick tip. When you come along from Campbelltown, get in your left lane because you actually have to veer to the left to take the M7. If you miss the turnoff, you will cotinue on the M5 and finish at the airport!!!

With the My cashless, have you got a Melbourne Tag. It will work on the M7.

If not, you can ring 13ROAM and give them your number plate and charging details. They photograpoh every car on and off the M7.

I would choose the Tolls over the Cumberland Highway at the end of an interstate trip.

well i'm back(online aswell bloody computer)
thanks guys for the M7 info, bloody fantastic, the only prob was getting onto Pennant hills Rd. the sign says left,so i get in left lane and then find a toll booth:cussing: argue i have a ROAM-TAG but says pay lane so PAY........$2.20 was the charge but it was well worth not going along the Cumberland Highway.

Friday: it took 8 3/4 hours from home to Hornsby with a 15 minute stop, refresh the bp ultimate at Goulburn(MARULAN) 60.48 litres to FILL then to HORNSBY (drove about 6 k's for ice and parked car)
Sun: Hornsby to ALBURY 58.87 litres, then filled up at home 26.14 litres.
all up 144.49 litres and travelled 1806 K's round trip:driving:
trip computer showed 8.3 L/100 k's over the 1806 K's. but working on those figures shows 8.0L/100K's. these figures are off the fuel receipts. i think thats about 34 MPG
thanks Garry

Garry,

That's my experience too. My trip computer reads pessimistic by a tad. Anyway, that's great economy from a V6 let alone a grunty V8. If there's one thing Holden got right, it's the Gen III open road fuel economy. They're an OK car for city dwellers - they'd be near on perfect for somebody that lives in the bush.
