Hey all

just wondering if anyone knows a decent place in Sydney that can put the wheel balance weight thingies on the inside of the rim?

The adventra has the classis onces that clip onto the outside lip of the rim and are visible from the outside of the car.

The car had a minor accident before christmas where one of the rims was replaced due to damage and when we got it back we found the new rim has the weight attached on the inside of the rim.

I suppose many places could do it, does anyone know somewhere that wont rip me off, because its a want not a need and I dont want to pay more then I have too for something that really doesnt need to be done (if this makes sense)

Shit, didn't think any tyre places put the weights
on the outside of the wheels anymore, especially
with alloys. Apart from looking shithouse, wouldn't
the damage already be done to the rim Y2K?
If they put weights on the outside of my rims,
I would burn their shop down

on alloys stick on weights are usually used.
but on many 4wds and steel rims they prefer to use the weights on the out side. its easier to balance with weights on the outside due to machines set up for this.
usually with stick on weights u have to double to triple the amount stated by the machine for it to balance.

My VX SS which I bought new came from Holden with knock on weights, I have a couple of small ones on the outside, and the spare that has never been on the car yet has a very small weight on the outside. 4 and a bit years on and never had a wheel balance or alignment and the car still feels spot on.
I was told once when I had new tyres fitted to another car that a better balance is acheived by sometimes having the weight on the outer rim if it is needed, and that it is sometimes a compromise to put all the weights on the inside even though it may still balance up, just what I was told once whether there is any truth in it or not, but it does stand to reason that in some instances that a little weight may be needed on the outer rim.
