Hi all,
Im looking at buying some VY SS ute springs and was wondering if they are rite to use in a vx executive that currently isnt lowered? I will be changing the shocks/struts also.
(So ie: ute springs ok to use in sedan or are they different? - via part numbers, hardness?? ect..)
Thanks

I just checked with Holden and a suspension place along similar lines re the front struts as I am selling some brand new shortened struts I was sent which were wrong for my VZ. (See Classifieds on here) Was told sedan and ute struts (FE2) were the same so am sure the springs would be too. In fact, just checked the Kings catalogue (see www.kingsprings.com.au) and they list the same springs for sedans and utes of similar models.

Yep utes and sedans use the same springs provided they are of the same model and have the same engine. Wagons are different but in the rear.

Hmm ok, this ute is a SS V8 where as my car is an executive V6.
Whats the main difference here then?

The rear will be the same part no. but the front wont be. I havent seen the front suspension in a v6 model but i would assume the spring would be different to compensate for the different engine weights. The spring may well fit but have a different spring rate to suit the weight.
