Yeah its a V8 Im good mates with the local dealer its not that I think its too dear Im just concerned that I might be stretching the budget will it hold its value at that price or will they drop in the :booty: I can stretch the budget if I dont lose too much on resale in a couple of years. Naturally I know that it will depreciate but how much is the question:hmmm:

If depreciation is a concern, don't buy a Holden. :moon:

I'd say with the new models coming out and new motors etc, the older cars will lose a little quicker than usual, but hey maybe I'm wrong.

Take it.

........

what he said . At that price you'd be in front of the depreciation curve anyway , in that its probably 7 or so grand(?) under what they would sell for dealer retail currently.Virtually brand new car keep a couple years you might only lose a couple of grand??Not many statesman or fairlane owners can say that .

When i said half price I meant of a new one and theres nothing wrong with it just mates rates. Thanks lowriding thats the sort of info I was after. I dont mind losing a couple of grand just dont want to have my pants pulled down when it comes time to sell. Does any one know where I could buy the export chev grille and other extras as on the Middle east exports?

IMO you are getting an absolute steal and would be :banghead: not to take it.

The major depreciation has just been removed because you are getting such a cheap price.

The Statey is a ripper car.

Go for it I say!!!!

Macca

Well I missed out on the original car I was offered. "You snooze you loose I guess". But my mate has managed to pick me up an 04 30k Black V8 WK Statey for $30K. So Im happy. 20's will be here tomorrow dba's and springs and shocks go on friday along with tint. Next week I'll get the grey strip along the skirts and a few other pieces painted to match body colour and a complete de-badge. Then I'll have to wait to save a few more bickies to get full Difilippo and get it down to Phonsy for a mafless. Then that should do it is after all the missus car. Her and the kids better take care of that paint or I'll............. :cussing:

Mate, good deal. i bought my '03 Statie in October for $33990 so you've done well. For you Grange bodykit call Nick at NVU, he can get access to the gear but it's pricey, told me around $5600 for the lot. he sent a bunch of stuff to the UAE for someone to do up their Statie over there. More than likely he can help with the grill etc too.

Love to see some pics of the car. Drop VooDoo a message, he seems OK with hosting pics for the Lux-O-Barge section.

Another option you guys may want to think about is an upgrade to a WL Caprice which has all the lower lips and is very tasteful with some nice wheels

We just completed 2 WK Statesmans

One was a WK Statesman that the gentlemen uses as a VHA car and wanted to give the look of the higher end model without spending thousands changing over .

Had the following parts upgraded.
WL Caprice Front bar (Front park assist holes filled and painted over)
WL Caprice Side skirts with end caps
WL Caprice Rear bar
WL Caprice LED Tail lights ( minor custom work to for LEDs to work)
WL Caprice Black bezel Headlights
WL Caprice 17" Machined faced alloy wheels.

The other car was for a dealer and we did the almost the same apart from the headlights and tail lights .

Would you believe the cost is 1/4 of that of a brand new genuine Grange bodykit add some nice wheels ( i personally would love to see someone do this and add VY Senator 19s and some VZ SS Vents on one it would just drop jaws..)

cheers Nick

You didn't happen to get any pics of the conversion did you Nick? I've picked up a taste for the bezel headlights in particular after seeing another forum members Calais. How would the VZ SS vented guards go with regards to that bump strip down the side of the Statesman? Are the vents themselves high enough to miss it or does it get removed altogether?

Well picked my car up Friday arvo at 4.30pm by 9.00pm she had some 20s new brakes dumped into the weeds custom plates but no tint or zorst have to wait till next week for that. Exterior wise its brand new one stone chip in the front and one 10mm scratch on the boot looks like handbag:mad: . It was an ex GMH car from Elizabeth. Interior is in need of a little detail pen mark on the roof lining? Going to slip some leather on the seats and doors once funds have recoverd a little and a roof mounted infared DVD to keep the kids quiet on those long drives. Anyone know how hard it would be to replace the headlining as its that beige sort of colour not too keen on it. Took it out today drove to Yea to look at a future project bout 1.45hrs away rode fairly well considering tyres are 35 series and the rear gaurd lip sits level with the rim unloaded tucks up nice. Missus is stoked didnt tell her I was buying it, its actually for her to comute kids around in step up from her 83 corona :spew: hence doing the mods before she can say no! Can I email someone some pics to put them up for me?

:lol:Man that is the exact same one I was looking at! Looks cool. I think it's a Grange though, or at least a WK that's been done up, if you compare it against some of the other Caprices in Carsales and UniqueCarsales it look a bit different. It's what I'm trying to get my WK to look like...even have the same red engine covers...
