AU! Guys iv got an au2 falcon you know the usual t3 kit and and so on. Those fender vents on the vz ss look hot so I was thinking.... of putting them on the AU. Im wondering is this going too far like im kinda worried. Don't worry though we own a statesman in the garage to keep it company.

Im thinking of picking up the flutes and some second hand au guards and putting them on but im concerned that 1. it will look gay (i hope it dont) 2. i will get laughed at (i think certainly) 3. its just bad for both the ford & holden side.

Iv seen bonnet buldges on holdens so.. is this ok? Im not a fan of the buldge myself... pity :spew:

man i wouldnt Do it !!! i think the AU is ugly enough as it is ( No offence mate ) but then again i am sure we will see heaps of others fitting them to ricers and falcons anyway.

well it is your car so do what ever you like to it..

hell if you drive around in an AU then it won't matter if it has vents or not;)

For what purpose are you putting them on mate? At the end of the day they offer no airflow or cooling, they are there purely for looks. So you need to ask yourself WHY you want them and decide if its worth it from there!

Yeah just for looks nothing else. I was gonna buy some second hand guards and put them in see what it looks like if any good then paint the guard and put them on but keep my old guards.

Only way is to try them on and see what they look like, or get someone good with photoshop to overlay them on a picture of your car and see what it comes out like.

If you didn't want it to look like a Commodore want-a-be you could try using the ones for a mini. They are smaler but not everyone will know what there from.

Is your AU an Inline6 or a V8? If it's a 6, people will think ... If it's an 8, there will still be some illusion that your vents have some purpose.

Yeah I thought it might be something different to give ago. My car is an I6 so not a v8. If someone could photo shop it that would be great!

Maybe you could get some made up. That way you get exactly the vent look you are after and noone can accuse you of robbing the VZ look.

Not sure what other model car ones to use. Im just wondering how hard are they to fit a guard not made for them... the other option is to fit them and paint them but fill in the noticable gap on them. I mean the small gap all the way aorund them that shows they have just been fitted on.

Chuck it on the stato instead....keep it in the family.;)

Cheers

Hay guys I was gonna get some made up to try it out. Im wondering anyone tried adding them to a car without the holes for the vents? Im wondering sort of on costs and the difficulty factor :stick:

I was of the understanding they can't be fitted without the holes.

Spend you money on something more worthwhile like EF XR6 bonnet flutes or a new fishing rod.:burnout:

... or a Holden

I saw the one at Summernats and although I generally like a bit of parts swapping etc between brands, it didn't look at all 'right'. It looked try-hard.

Sorry to bring this up again guys. I sourced some holden ones for $125 for the set including lights. I seen today in the city a hsv grange and it had fender vents but with two chrome strips.. a little difference. I was wondering are you able to purchase these or do you need a VIN?
