:yup: I have just picked up my new ride over the weekend. Z Clubsport in impulse blue. 6 speed manual. But a question arises, where do I start with the mods. First I think that the exhaust needs attention (any body hear that). and what should I do with the intake. It will have the optional binicle guages and short shift fitted at the 3000k service.
I'm after any ideas on what I should do would be great for the intake. Don't all jump in with getting edit done, as that will be done as soon as the intake and exhaust have been done.
Thanks to all the reply.

Don't do it! Do yourself a favour and search for "ripshift" on the forum. I was silly enough to pay $500 for a 'HSV short shift' when I got my CV8. Not one of my shining moments. Now corrected :)

Cheers for that. I dropped the rear resinator off last night just to see what it sounds like and it sounds nice:D . I don't know if it will drone if I make it streight out with no resinator. I didn't have a drone problem in the VT R8 but that was an auto with 3.73 diff.

Mate you could head and cam it. Maybe a Harrop or PWR Blower. They would liven it up.

I have had pacemakers and high flow cats fitted and opted to go for a computer upgrade as opposed to an LS2 edit and now have 320 rwkw with a standard HSV air box. Couldn't be happier. I have been tried to be talked into a SS inductions Big Gulp CAI but have decided against it after fitting the SS reductions CAI (not big gulp) to my LS1 SS.
Any mods you make to your LS2 you will be happy with. I know I am.

I find it hard to believe as well. Ive got pacies and twin 3 inch exhaust on mine and iam getting a cam package done at powertorque in 2 weeks and they say i should get around 290rwkw so with exhaust and computer only making 320rwkw this is something new

Keep us posted on your cam install,no ls2 cam has been done on this forum as far as i know.Im still unsure between a cam and a pwr setup, the later is double the cost but a better solution i have been advised

Will post results of cam when done in 2nd week of feb.

Sorry, but you've been scammed. They've fudged the dyno figures.
What is the "computer upgrade" exactly? More like 320 rwhp, not kw.

No offence mate but 320 RWKW ?????
I had a VT2 GTS when they came out and every bloke that I met after they were released that had an LS1 had 300kw. Now it seems as though the engine outputs have been moved to the back wheels because 300kw (at the flywheel) no longer sounds impressive.
I remember I went to a Dyno day at Silverwater and there were about 40 LS1's there. Most cars had more RWKW than mine PRIOR to putting them on the dyno (according to their owners), some even had Dyno sheets to prove it. Funny though, at the end of the day mine came out on top with 213 RWKW and some of the so called 300kw PLUS car owners walked away dissappointed, some even claimed the Dyno was faulty. I know the LS2 is a good engine but it aint that good.

seems a little hard a belive or I've been jipped of around 50rwkws, my ls2 has had an edit and cat back exhaust and managed 270 rwks, You sure they didn't slip a blower in there without you knowing lol

Please note that I stated "computer upgrade" not LS2 edit. I cant say anymore as I have been asked not to at this stage. I will post ASAP. Its also the person who is doing the work not just the computer.

Yep, read that bit the first time. The "computer upgrade" doesn't include a camshaft and a turbocharger does it or maybe he upgraded the computer on the dyno. I'm not being a smart R's, I just don't believe the figures. They'd be pretty healthy numbers for someone with a turbo fitted.

320rwkW after an exhaust and tune. Now that should go in the hall of shame. So now these cars are making 400kW+ from an exhaust and eidt. If it was on the dyno sheet it must be real. Hey it wasn't tunas dyno was it. I saw a car dynoed at two different shops and they were 50rwkW apart.

Like they say, let the track do the talking. We ran a showroom stock LS2 tune only into the 12.6 second zone. And if you cant tune a mafless OTRCAI LS2 with pipes and open exhaust close to 300rwkw....you should give the game away :lmao:

Just to up date where I've gone to this point. Had a set of pacemaker 4-1 hpc 1 5/8 headers, 3" high flow cats inot 3" twin to the mufflers, 21/2 twin from there on to twin high flow resinators, all 306 stainless and mandrel bent. I've also done the MCAI and K&N filter. Took it to doughy and tuna and had them work their magic. 241rwkw first run, finished withy 281.6rwkw with an air temp of 35deg in the shed. very happy camper here:thumbsup: :burnout: :driving:
