Hi all,

I'm looking at purchasing a 2002 CV8 Manual, the one with the VT/VX interior, so I'm assuming that would be series 1, and was wondering if there were any major problems or considerations I should think about before buying?

It has about 42,000Kms on it, has had only one owner, and is a Holden Certified Used Vehicle, if that means anything?

Cheers.

Best bet is to do a search around mate. I think the earlier munro's did suffer a little from the Oil & Slapping issues like all other new LS1's did.

Yeah - normal LS1 engine issues for that model. Also blocked drain holes underneath rear quarter area - leading to water saturation of the rear carpet. I think the fix involved removing side skirt & opening up the drain holes.
Bodywise they seem to be holding up ok.

I've got one... Had interior replaced twice under warranty because of rear water through the blocked drainhole.

Just check the interior fits snug so if was replaced, they did it properly.

Also had motor rebuilt due to oil consumpt.

Good car though. No other probs..

Sweet, that's what I wanted to hear.
Any problems are common and hence easily fixed.

Man I do hate it when water get's in though, I had about 2inches of water in the driver's side floor well once. It came in from the glass at the top of the A pillar and dripped down just next to the bonnet release.

Cheers for the info people

We've got one, and no hint of problems (bought it 2 months ago) - interesting to read all these issues, but personally have not seen any. I also prefer the VX interior to the newer one (but that's just me :))
