My time to ask a stupid question
An 8 is definately out of the question for me, insurance and I refuse to go third party so dont even bother suggesting it:bawl:
I'm wondering which to go for, a VT S pack or a VT Calais, or possibly een VX Exec?
I know the S pack is more sporty/performance as such and the Calais is more luxury, but its kinda difficult to make a choice.
There seem to be more S packs availiable and in different colours. I also like their similar appearance to the SS. The calais has only a limited colour range on the market, but I still like the look of the VT Calais. Plus its got more luxury features such as climate control, some have leather seats etc.
Just wondering if anyone can give me good and bad for either one? Its a tough decision :1peek:

If all these vehicles are NA V6's go the Calais. If any are supercharged (please note insurance may be higher) go the supercharged. Great motor and lots of mods to rip into some of those (GENIII's Stock) :D

Dont go supercharged.
I had one and they drank a lot more than my Gen 3 I had.
Personally I would go the calais

Calais all the way. :yup:
Lots of buttons etc. to keep you amused & comfy, plus overall better level of appointments.
The Calais would most likely be cheaper to insure than the Exec or S also.
If it were me I'd go the older Calais as opposed to the newer VX Exec. KM's on the odo & condition is most important.

What about a 5.7 Non-SS like a Berlina. Insurance will not be much different to an Exec. A Supercharged car will cost as much as the LS1 to run on fuel. A Berlina will be more luxurious than an SS or Exec.

a mate of mine just sold his VT s pack 5 speed for $13500 which was great going i reckon
my old man had a VT Berlina and he could not sell it for more than $10k, it only had 90,000km on it, he ended up trading that and his VY s ute in on a VZ s ute

hi mate, for sure buy a calais you will find them cheaper to buy and to insure, i looked at both vy ss and vy v8 calais, more buttons/luxury smoother ride but still handle great (got the calais) :yup:
ps. if you want the sporty look you could always put a body kit on the calais!!!!!!!!

What he said....
The calais has all the internal goods... you can slowly upgrade the external and suspension...
Unless you want a manual... but they are probably rare in a v6

nah not after a manual, not for this car anyway.
Well it seems theres an overwhelming response for the Calais. I dont know whether I'd get Supercharged or NA, it depends on when I find the car I like whether its got it or not!
Thanks guys fo ryour suggestions, makes my decision easier
